I'm enjoying Shakespeare but just felt it was time for something a bit different. So this week I figure I'll slap something in here from my common book.

I call to my father
and he answers me

'Yes' he says and grants my wish
'No' he says as I think why

Wow..
I really like your poem! I am going to show it to the people in my bible study because I think they will really enjoy it! I have listened to talks by Driscoll as well, he is a pretty inspiring guy!
Thanks for that though, it was great!!!!!!!!

John-this poem is wonderful! Everything you have written is so true. I think today, we are so spoilt at times that we forget there is someone up there that knows better 'what is good for us.' And the rhyming is not childish- keep up the good work.

Thanks to both of you Nancy and Kelly. Poetry is one area I'm never really comfortable with so it's good to get positive feed back. Thanks again.

Well I too think this poem, prayer has elicited a really interesting relationship for you- it is refreshing to see you/ someone testing their own natural inclinations against something that you/we know instinctively is greater than the normal preoccupations that inhabit one. "The Will be done" is the classic formulation, but you have made this your own, entered into the spirit. I think you would love the poems of George Herbert. Check these out - they are actually in our current anthology- don't miss them. He often writes very personal poems like this to his creator.
