The top frame comes off, so it is about 1/2-width. All I need, now, is the active noise cancelling headphones...and I think I'll be able to take the roller rink!
This guitar (with a set of Shure noise-blocking ear phones) definitely passed the test! I practiced for 3 hours at the local roller skating rink with no problem. This is awesome!!!
One other feature is that you have an input for other sound sources, so I can feed my MP3 player into the guitar and either play along with practice tracks (slowed-down versions made using the Amazing Slow Downer.) or listen to my favorite podcast.
The other factor - to me - was what type of spectacle I would be in the roller rink playing a guitar! It turned out to be really cool. Some kids asked what I was playing...I told them "Fernando Sor" and they just looked at me... ha! I got to introduce my daughters to some of the kids they had seen there, so it made for a nice ice-breaker. Best of all, they mostly left me alone. :) There is absolutely NO WAY a normal acoustic guitar would have a chance at the rink. And a regular guitar would have been much too large for the seating.
