If your question isn’t answered here either comment to this post, or if you feel silly asking, you can send a PM directly to the mods. Just remember, there are no dumb questions, only our dumb answers ;)

~Writers~

Basics?
This Big Bang is John Winchester and/or Jeffrey Dean Morgan centric. This is the primary rule. Each and every story have to be about Papa John, or the younger version of him, or the sexy JDM. Naturally if you choose, you can mix them in a big happy AU storyline too.

Can My Story Be Longer Than 15K?
Does Dean Winchester drive a ‘67 Impala? It can be as long as you can make it within the given deadline.

Can I Use a WIP?
Depends. Is it just an idea that you’ve been kicking around and doing some outlining for? Certainly. Have you written a few thousands words so far? Okay. Are you already half way finished with it? Nope. Unless, you’re planning on writing an additional 15K and in that case, go for it.

Can I Write a Sequel?
Yes you can! If you are writing a sequel to a story that is already finished, please link the previous parts. Otherwise, go for it.

What Kind of Genre is allowed?
All pairings, and fic types are welcome. You can write any het, gen, slash or RPF story. We doesn't exclude anything, as long as it comes with a propper warning.

What About Crossovers?
Go ahead. The only criterion that the main character has to be John, or Jeff.

Can It Be AU?
Like we said, absolutely. You can AU the poo-poo out of it!

How About Pre-Series?
Any point in the timeline is welcome - whether it's pre, during or post series.

Can I Write RPF?
About Jeffrey? Go ahead! About Kripke? Sorry, you're barking on a wrong tree.

What If I Want to Write About Kripke Anyhow?
There are lots of awesome big bangs out there, just pick one that is suite for you. Check out the profile page at bigbangindex for a wonderful array of big bangs.

Do I Need a Beta Reader?
Your story does need to be beta read before the final posting. For those who need to find a beta, we have a helping community here. Another great resource for finding a beta reader is spn_betas.

Can I Do Art and a Story?
You cannot do art for your own story, but as long as you have the time to do both, you absolutely may also sign-up to create art for someone else's.

Can I Do Art for My Own Story or Choose My Artist?
Nope and nope. You can do both art and a story but you can't do the art for your own story - it would take all the fun out of doing a big bang! As far as the artist selection process, here the artist chooses the story they will be creating art for based off of your provided summary.

What If I Don't Like My Artist's Style?
There is a chance that you might not like the style of art done by the artist that selects your story. You may not request a different artist on account of not liking their style. Every artist will do the best they can to create art that fits what you are looking for.

What If There Are More Writers Than Artists?
Usually there is and that's okay. We'll be letting artists take on multiple stories if needed and if we still don't have enough, we'll find more artists or your mods will just be really busy illustrating. One way or another, your story will get beautiful art.

What Is Due at the Check-Ins?
Absolutely nothing. They're just a means of making sure that you're still playing. All you have to do is say that you're alive, that things are progressing and let us know if you need some help, in which case we'll send in the cheerleaders.

What About Rough Drafts?
When rough drafts are due you will need to email in a copy of your story. It doesn't have to be perfect by any means and you don't have to be at 15K yet, but it needs to be obvious that you will be able to reach the minimum word count by the time the final is due for your story to be eligible for artists claims. We don't want any artists stuck with unfinished stories come posting day.

If you will be out of town when rough drafts are due you will need to send it in early so that it doesn't miss out on the artist claims. Instructions for submitting rough drafts will be posted closer to that date.

~Artists~

What Do Artists Do?
You make the magic happen. Once story rough drafts are turned in there will be a claims post in which you get to pick the story you would like to make art for based off the provided summaries. Graphics, illustrations and manips are all welcome.

How Much Art Do I Have to Create?
Your author will appreciate as much quality work as you can do in the time provided. The minimum is one full piece and one icon, which can be a smaller version of the large piece. Just do the best piece you can do and it will be perfect.

What About Reading Podfics, Fanmixes and Videos?
In the artist sign-ups we’re looking for visual art that the authors will be able to display with their stories. However, if you are interested in recording a podfic, creating a fanmix or editing a video for a story we want you too!

If your author agrees, that’s something you could do along with visual cover art or if you specialize in only podfic, fanmix or video editing then just let me know and we’ll find you an author to hook up with in addition to their graphic artist. The more art the merrier!

Can I Do Art For More Than One Story?
If you have the time, absolutely! Depending on the writer to artist ratio, we may need some artists to do more than one story and if you would be available for that, or pinch hitting in the case of any artist drop outs, then please say so on your sign-up. In the case that we do need some artists to do more than one story, there will be a second artist claim after the first.
