EDIT: The nerdier alcoves of the interweb seem to be up in arms about the fact that superheroes are actually referred to as Watchmen. Extrapolating further, I think its possible they might just compress the name of both the Minutemen and The Crimebusters into Watchmen. It does make it a *little*

Yeah, like you I'm not a huge fan of that since it's a bit too obvious. All the same it could be worse and the film is looking gorgeous.

I think I've nailed what's happening with the end in this adaptation. It's a nice way of doing things and is a tidy explanation of certain actions, but I'd still like them to give the original a shot.

Thoughts on Trek XI? I'm optimistic. Seems to be combining the best bits of Classic Trek and Enterprise. I think it'll be a lot of fun.

I've yet to form an opinion on Trek XI but I'm eagerly awaiting the trailer. For me it will boil down to whether this Chris Pine guy can pull off The Captain.

The premise has saved it for me and got my interest.

I get where you're coming from but I think it's the kind of part that would be almost impossible to get wrong, given they know they can't afford to fuck it up. The script is going to be going all out to support him.

The concern for me is in the smaller parts where they might have taken their eye off the ball. As little as Uhura, Sulu or Scotty* got to do, the original cast made them work.

When's the full trailer out?

Yes, they can't afford to fuck it up. It will go horribly wrong if they do. I think its a tightrope between not Shatner enough and Shat to the point of parody.
