When I die, I plan to leave a considerable net worth behind me. My wife will take her share, but the rest I will bury in small chests near places I have visited over a lifetime. Only the discerning eye of a scholar with a genuine interest in my notebooks, my biography, my journals, will be able to unearth the untold treasures of the historian's

Good point -- I should probably just cut the wife out too, to simplify things. Then I could bury treasure at my own pace over a few decades aforehand.

And if I die too early, well, I guess I've just leave it all to the church.

Actually, on second thought, I'm kind of happy that amid your skepticism here (note the K, incidentally) you didn't question the "considerable net worth" thing.
