My landlord still hasn't cashed the deposit from two weeks ago, or the rent that was due yesterday. So I have about a thousand dollars less than my checking account shows, and this is beginning to tempt and to irritate me.

Ooooh I hate when that happens. When checks are out there that haven't been cashed, so it looks like you're richer then you are. I can't understand why people don't run to the bank with money that you give them.
