That will absolutely happen. Majesco is somehow profiting thanks to Cooking Mama on the Wii! In addition the Wii is going to be seeing lots of PSP ports when the PS2 is finally gone.
I've been seeing a lot of hand wringing about "oh, noes, the casual gamers are going to take over" - but seeing the results of the PS2 last days (Odin Sphere, GrimGrimoire, etc) - I think the Wii will benefit from people doing some really great stuff.
Personally, I'm excited for Dragon Quest Swords for the Wii for example - and not just because of the loligoth girl.
However, I do think there will be faaaaarrrr more casual games than anyone thinks honestly. That being said, hopefully there will be enough to satisfy the hardcore crowd that aren't “wii-makes.”
Given the way things are going, saleswise, with the PS3, I think it's probably a smart developer that avoids it for the forseeable future. Which is sad.
I don't know that it's sad, but we have a problem here:
PS3: wayyyy to expensive 360: Fail rates are, according to some reports, up to 30% (that's probably hyperbole, but based on people's experiences 10% wouldn't surprise me). Wii: No "super powers".
Personally, I can live with the last - I'm not spending all of the money to get a big HD super res TV just so I can play the screen humping version of "DOA: Extreme Breast Volleyball 3".
But when I am ready to do so, that means that either the 360 will have to be fixed up, or the PS3 down in price. Don't get me wrong - I love my Wii, and I know it's getting some sweet games. But then again, I'll also want my Trusty Bell and Final Fantasy XIII some day - but I don't know if it will have more than that by then as developers abandon it.
Either way, Sony did this to themselves - they could have saved maybe $200 by *not* going Blue Ray and trying to shove that crap down our throats - and now they're paying for it.
I suspect the fail rate is a bit high for the 360, given my encounters working for testing for them lately. None of the team I was on ever seemed to have hardware-related issues.
Some truly spectacular software ones, mind, but that's what they were paying us for.
