I wasn't, until Alison went to grad school for Sociology and started talking to me about what she was learning. After that it was a quick decent into "Socialism Yay!"
I came out 65% liberal, 35% conservative. On several issues I scored exactly 50%, those being fiscal issues and personal responsibility.
John, I read a book last night that I think you should read. It's called "The Soul of an Indian", by Ohiyesa, otherwise known as Charles Alexander Eastman. Its a very short book, and if you ever wanted put to words what is truly wrong with this way of life we live, this is the book. This small book is powerful...as well as potentially life-changing.
No, a dakota sioux. He was the first Indian accredited doctor, as well as being an advisor to Presidents. He wrote around 12 books, but The Soul of an Indian is probably his most outstanding work, written when he finally left "civilization", jaded and heartbroken over the death of his people and what he felt was a failure on his part to balance his people's way of life with the white man's civilization. A great book that draws many parallels to Zen Buddhism in many ways.
Lakota and Dakota are both similar tribes that were all lumped together under the name "Sioux" by white pioneers who first came in contact with them. I'll have to pick it up and take a look.

that was the worse political quiz ever. The questions are so slanted its not even funny.
They draw yes-no comparisons with two issues that are not even related let alone oposites.
/sigh people are stupid
