Greetings to all! I hope you enjoyed Shabbos (I sure did).

As you all (probably) know by now, John McCain picked Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska as his running mate. When I heard about this, it begged 2 main questions: 1) Who? and 2) Why?

I started out being a little skeptical about this, but I've gradually warmed up to this exceptional idea of McCain's. ( Read more... )

Actually, a few people did see this coming. The only one I could remember right now is Ross Douthat at the Atlantic, who I'd recommend you'd read if you seriously want to be a non-WASP Republican under the age of 65 in the 21st Century ( ... )

1) I didn't see the ad, so can't comment. Wouldn't be surprised if they were a bit off-guard, especially considering Barack's historic and moving speech ( ... )

1) It's only historic and moving if he wins the election. Otherwise, who's going to remember what he says? Plus, he didn't get any boost from it according to a new CNN poll (of course that could be because the day after McCain announced that Palin was his running mate, which was also historic ( ... )

Also: she did praise Obama's energy plan. But that's just par for the course as Biden has attacked Obama and praised McCain, a fact the McCain campaign has already exploited.

Exploited is a strong, but very accurate description of the Biden attack. If you look at one of my previous posts, I actually posted the video (it's a good commercial).

Difference b/w them is that Palin praised the energy plan, not Obama himself (unlike Biden).
