When blurting stuff out to interested parties please remember that it is not the aviation industry who votes for or against you.  I doubt very much whether the people of Barrow and Furness care much about Heathrow expansion either, but there are 44 London Labour MPs many of whom are going to be a whole lot less popular if Heathrow expansion gets

And it's not just about environmentalism. It's also about the few million Londoners under the flightpaths going steadily more mental from the noise and threat of accident/terrorism. NIMBYISM, but in a million back yards.

I think the worst thing is that there are alternatives, but nobody is looking at them because this is the most transparent display of business lobbying/corruption we've seen. From this government, that is really saying something.
