I'm thinking of making my own costume too. No lame sheet ghost outfit for me this year.

A mummy, huh?

Heh. Kinda strange for a desert-dweller to be hanging around in the city, isn't it? But whatever. Halloween always has a few surprises like that, right?

What are you gonna be? Or you haven't decided yet?

I could say the same for ghosts and whatever else people are dressing up as. Halloween's when everything can be extraordinary and perfectly normal, too.

I've got an idea, but I'm going to be keeping it a secret for now. At least until I'm able to find a few more supplies.

Heh. I guess I can't argue with that kind of logic, huh?

Nope, my logic is flawless.

How they can so blithely touch and investigate these items without fearing any kind of contamination is extraordinary.

A... mummy?

Yeah. You know, a wrapped-up corpse? ...Does Egypt exist in your world?

Oh, of course it does.

I just didn't think such a handsome, mature young man would dress up as something so scary.

Grace said I didn't act like my age--but that it's okay because boys aren't supposed to, or something. But that's not really an option here, you know?

...it's not really a good idea back home, either.

Right. Can't say I've heard that one.

I've been on my own since uh. Younger than you, so I had to grow up quick.

It's better not to be a kid here. No matter what your age is, you know?

I've been...um. Well, I've always had someone watching over me, so I guess I'm lucky that way.

Yeah. Kids get hurt too easily.
