The holidays are like that, aren't they? You suddenly remember a lot of little things that you thought you forgot... details that doesn't really matter on a day to day basis. Makes you see things in a different light.

Yeah. It's kind of weird, how many things I've just stopped thinking about...even last holiday season, I wasn't really thinking about this. They're still there, though.

Being away from home tends to have that effect.

...No, I'd say...I'm closer to home than I was before.

--Oh! You said the war was over...did you get to go home before they brought you back?

Making up new parents... huh?

You've never done that? Pretending you're adopted or whatever. Kid stuff like that.

I don't think so... we used to play Aceman or weird games like that, but we never pretended my mom wasn't my mom.

...My dad though, there are times where I wish I could play that. Even pretty recently.

Haha, maybe Grace and I are just a pair of oddballs.

What's wrong with your dad?

I think... a lot of children are like that.

So you did that too, huh?

Maybe it's just because it's more exciting to think your parents are completely different people...

... Something like that.

Do you think you're like your dad?

Do you miss your dad?

I guess, maybe...he wasn't always there, but when he had free time he almost always spent it with us. He was really nice.

At the same time, it's been so long...it'd probably be really awkward if I saw him here or something.

Hn...

I wouldn't know what it's like to have a father; I grew up in an orphanage. Though... can't say I'd want to see anyone else from the orphanage show up here.

Yeah...I guess...well, it's not like I really want anyone showing up here. It's just not a good place.

I don't even remember when we grew out of it. I think we were pretty young when we did it, right...?

Mmm. I guess it's just one of those things that you stop doing little by little, you know?

Yeah, makes sense.

You sound happier today. Feeling better?
