Quiz: Unfinished Novels

Jan 31, 2008 00:29

First of all, a quiz. I am reading a novel, Weir of Hermiston, that was left unfinished at the time of its author's death. That got me thinking about other notable unfinished novels. I'll list some I came up with, and you guys see if you can tell me who wrote them--cool?

1. Weir of Hermiston
2. Sanditon
3. The Love of the Last Tycoon/F. Scott ( Read more... )

3. F. Scott Fitzgerald

5. Charles Dickens

But that's all I have.

Right and right! Sadly I've never read either, although The Last Tycoon sounds pretty fascinating--I love that era of Hollywood.

I've never read either, but I intend to get to The Last Tycoon. I like Fitzgerald quite a bit. I've read This Side of Paradise and The Great Gatsby, and I'm still working on Tender Is the Night but would like to get through all of them. Dickens, however, I can do without.

4 - Kafka?
10 - Baldwin

I knew two others, but they done got stolen from me!

7. is the perfect title for an unfinished Welles film, but...

Shalom, y'all!

Bingo on Kafka, but you're oh-so-close on Juneteenth--it's actually Ralph Ellison (an Oklahoma native!).

Speaking of books, have you been to Gardner's lately? Sometimes I dream of that place...
