the writing is as strong as ever.
But I totally hear you. I wantwantwant to write some performance pieces again, and I keep writing quiet little page bits. When I write at all, that is...
YOU ARE MY HERO. i just thought you might want to know. that poem is amazing. you know what my life is dedicated to. that is beautiful. gah! now i want you to meet my tigers though. someday i will make you visit Alabama.

you and i are in the exact same place, i swear.
i've had a bit of a block lately, but before i did, everything i was writing was weird and quiet and pagetastic. i think LA made me ashamed to be a performer for a while...
but now i wanna be BOOM BAP BIG! i am really looking forward to the Plough feature for that reason. and to bond with you over these issues.
and for what it's worth: growing up in Wisconsin and having lived in the midwest until age 26, i COMPLETELY dig and grok the concept of snow days. good stuff, maynard.

I have faith we can find our rock and roll, brother. You especially; I gotta have faith that yours ain't gone.
And from what I've heard about the lowest common denominator of the LA scene, I don't blame you for shying from performance. We could really use a few good performers up in NorCal, though. Not that we've gotten page-tastic, but we could use some real shocking barnburners now that the Kings aren't all in the Bay.
Speaking of Wisconsin, you get the last email I sent ya?
