Queen Elizabeth only reigned 44yrs and 127 days, Victoria made it 63years and 7 months. I think you mean Queen Elizabeth II ;-)

We're also only a constitutional monarchy, that means the Queen really has very little power (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constitutional_monarchy).

A Dictator is rather terrifying.

Thanks for the link. It was a good thing they got their laws changed though, when it came to that sort of thing.

I think we became a constitutional monarchy in 1689, after the 1688 Revolution.

We had a go at being a republic, didn't work out for us, seems we like our monarchy.

Ah, I see. Oh wow. How did I miss that?
To be fair, after The Revolutionary war, when Congress and Washington was setting up the new government. Someone told Washington to just become King because it was too hard to set up the democracy. Washington didn't much like that idea.

I wish I had a link for you for that. But I'm paraphrasing from a history book I had at one point in my life.
