I must thank everyone again who gave me advice and encouragement about the Mills' college BDSM panel I attended, because it went GREAT! I was the only trannyboy on the panel, everyone else were bio-gals, some long time players, some younger, some I knew, some I didn't. Our audience were Mills' queer student group, 'Mouthing Off', all around the age of 19-25, plus a few other players that came to support the panel.
I was really blessed to attend the event and feel like I'm strengthening my contacts even more for when I move to Oakland in August...the 26th to be exact. I'll be moving into the CCA's Webster hall (for transfer, international and "big ol' queers like me" students) where I'll have my own studio. I'll need it as I'm going to be needing a lot of space to get settled into the new environment and such.
Speaking of art, I've been making sculpture since I was 17, but studying sculpture for over a year at CSUC and I entered this piece into CSU Chico's 52nd annual student art exhibit and it (+29 others) was/were chosen out of 98 pieces to be in the show, and not only that, it won some kind of award! I wasn't even aware that there were awards, but I'm excited to go to the opening and ceremony on the 11th, take a look:
I also entered the same piece in the 4th annual
Fresh Meat in the Gallery transgender visual art exhibition (June 2 - July 6, 2007) in SF, and will hopefully hear back from them sometime later in the month. I have quite a few other posts to make, but have been slacking.
Going to school has been extremely difficult as I have tried so hard to communicate my identity ever since I came out, but my teachers just can't seem to respect my wishes...I've made a deal with my usually perfectionist self that as long as I get Cs this semester, I'll be a happy boy.
I moved in with Beast around 2 months ago and am still taking care of my dad, just not living with him, things were getting difficult for me in that area so I thought it best to relocate. Beast and I are splendid, better than actually, but leaving him will be really difficult, not having him next to me at night will also be hard, and I will look forward to his visits. Nomad Sir's travelling spreading the 'Perv' Word to all who will listen and is to be in Australia soon, I'm sure he'll have a blast. Can't wait to see him again, though, not until September...and I think I get to meet Hunter, now that's exciting!
Finally I'm trying to milk my stay at CSUC as much as possible, staying enrolled until the last minute because I'm shooting to get a full scholarship into the
CSU Summer Arts program to take: Going Public: Architecture, Landscape, and the Emerging Field of Public Art in July.
Music is going great and I've been regularly playing shows even with my changing voice since I started T in January...I'm looking forward to taking the Bay Area by storm with Boy Tiger ^_^
All in all, I'm just ready to get the hell out of here, eager to start finishing up my BFA and learning more about where my work will take me, the play parties I'll go to, the people I'll meet, the friends I'll make, the shows I'll have, and the many joys and challenges that life will bring.
