So I did it. I finally chose a replacement for the Firebird. All that's left is approval of the loan. And it's The Wrong Car ( Read more... )

I just went to TO and back this week in an Accent... seemed pretty nice, enough power... only things wrong with it? It was SEAFOAM GREEN and driven by a forty-something who didn't know what the term leadfoot for the life of her... long ride home... but at least my acrobat friend brought good tunes...

Mine's gonna be silver.

And you KNOW I'm a leadfoot, at least it's got a five-speed, so I'm gonna make those 104 horses MOVE.

Like Chevy, I'll be there for you ;-) natlik October 20 2003, 09:08:28 UTC
I think you made a fine choice. I will (hopefully if I get my license) will be in the same boat you are, down the road looking for a car. I won't be able to get a nice car... and I know I'll be ragged on for whatever piece of shit I get, by a few people, but it'll be all mine. Yeah, some of our friends have a nicer car than yours...BUT yours will be brand new and cute as hell!

I'm calling it Jan, after Jan Brady.

If I get financing, of course.

S2000??? ivanushka October 20 2003, 09:30:38 UTC
No kidding on the S2000. Someone at my office has one of those, and I ended up in once for a short (thankfully) trip. If it had been any longer than a couple of miles I would have had to have been strapped to the roof.

Congrats on the new car, btw.

Well you know I have one, and mine is the best standard I've had in sometime. My Aunt also has one, for 4 years no problems, they are great on gas, and they can move when they need to, unlike Larry's poot little thing. A car, is simply a thing to get from A to B and if it's more than that, than you need some other less expensive hobbies, or you have so much money you don't know what else to do with yourself, or you care way too much about what other people think of you, so you need a symbol of what you are. CARS jusr are really a fuck up situation all around.

Ryan stepping down from the TIDE box.....oops sorry,

Umm -- I wasn't suggesting they were bad cars, or unreliable, or aren't a lot of fun to drive. I was just saying they (or at least the one I was in) was a tight fit.

As for the rest. Perhaps it's just the silly Angeleno in me, but I like driving. Always have. As for the particular car -- certainly some are more fun to drive around than others, but in the end it didn't particularly matter which car it was, I just had fun with the driving part.

My roomie larry is a big guy and he is always crampt in mine too.....But I think his car is even smaller.....which is why we take mine, plus the AC factor, I have he does not.
