As one goes further to the right in the philosophical spectrum, beyond Conservatism lies Nationalism and then Fascism. As near as I can tell, Bush lies squarely on the line between Nationalist and Fascist. In other words he's not quite a complete Fascist, but close. Kerry on the other hand is a stolid Conservative. Bush will try to label him as a Liberal, but he's not.
Is my idea that you should vote for who you believe in, rather than the lesser of two evils, misguided?
Misguided or not, it's an idea I share. To me, my vote means I approve of the candidate (or referendum, or whatever) in question. If I don't approve, I won't vote.
Ordinarily I wouldn't vote for Kerry; he is too Conservative in many of his points of view to win my approval. However, it is so important to get Bush out of office that I will vote for Kerry anyway.
