Experience at a country pub

Funny, nobody looked at me funny ever for ordering ales and bitters when I was over there.

I mean, it was ironic and all, that the cow-orkers I was normally with would be ordering Stellas and Kronenburgs and I would be ordering the local ale no matter how sunny and summery it was.

But no one ever reacted to me doing so like that!

There ain't nothing wrong with a good lager, or a blonde, or a wheat beer, or any number of not-ale things ...

But when the options here are crap import lager (stella, carling, carlsberg, red stripe ... NOOOOO!!!!!) or crap import stout (Guiness - the Irish here won't drink it, they wait till they go home) - I'll take ale thanks!
