My friend, those people you speak of are not Catholics. The Holy Father would never condone such behavior. Catholics like your Nana are not unique. They are the norm. Sadly, most of us are in the background. As you say, not the ones you see on the media.

I am deeply devout. I don't hate anyone. I don't accept only those like me. I accept all. Those actions you speak of are unCatholic. Christ would not approve.

You might try reading the Catechism of the Catholic Church. You'd find it very enlightening. The section on Prayer was written by a Byzantine Catholic imprisioned for his faith. God bless him.

Please do not blame the entire faith for a number of lunatics. Join me in helping to kick the meanies out.
