During my anatomy class today the students were discussing what was on their mind as they were working on their histology assignment. Often as it does the subject of the conversation was racism. No stereotype bothers me. I just think we've fallen into too much political correctness and everybody's just a tad too sensitive. Also, yes, race and racism are used as an excuse for failure.

Why, mere minutes ago, I began playing the new PS3 game Assassin's Creed, which is set during the Crusades. When the game first boots up, a disclaimer appears informing one that "the producers, creators and developers of [the game] are from diverse faiths with diverse cultural and religious views." I shook my head for it is a pity such a disclaimer is deemed necessary for a video game that is admittedly set within an historical period.

Personally, I find the very notion of stereotypes and of stereotypes, in general, to be hysterical. I am glad that not all people are overly sensitive and can loosen up by a sense of humor about ethnic caricatures.

...after reading the report and finding myself guilty of much of the behavior described, I find that much of the stereotyping is justified!
