Why, mere minutes ago, I began playing the new PS3 game Assassin's Creed, which is set during the Crusades. When the game first boots up, a disclaimer appears informing one that "the producers, creators and developers of [the game] are from diverse faiths with diverse cultural and religious views." I shook my head for it is a pity such a disclaimer is deemed necessary for a video game that is admittedly set within an historical period.
Personally, I find the very notion of stereotypes and of stereotypes, in general, to be hysterical. I am glad that not all people are overly sensitive and can loosen up by a sense of humor about ethnic caricatures.
