Liters and grams are two different units of measurement. Liters measure volume. Grams measure weight.

Well... its like a medicine and it says 5 mL a teaspoon but isn't medicine usually milligrams? The mg?

It says 5 mL because it's a liquid. If it's a solid, then it will say milligrams. It's just like fluid ounces and pounds in the US standard.
