I think that friendship is based off of shared experiences. Take that chance away by moving somewhere else, and your bond decreases. Even if you go visit them for a short while, if you won't be near each other again any time soon all you'd be doing is catching up, not having new experiences. There's only so many times you can say 'so how's school?' to someone before it gets old. I probably don't make much sense, I can write more later if you want. Good to know someone has similar thoughts, though.
