Briefly having a conversation with Martin Atkins at the Starbar, we were sitting around having drinks discussing the history of underground music. Martin has been an instrumental figure in this genre. Ironically enough, the conversation turned to the fact that the attention span of todays audience has shrunk to a mere two minutes and thirty seconds

Yes, apparently Tim Tiki has been doing the dj-ing. I don't know why Martin's booking agent set that show up. He was warned that it would potentially not be in his best interests. But he came. Starbar was expecting him, and then caved in on his performance.

Or maybe whoever booked him should have asked what he was going to play. I know I did and I'm extremely glad I had the oppourtunity to bring him to my night. It's a refreshing change from the same old songs, his set is well-mixed and very well thought-out. I think it was honestly just over the table of dipshits heads.

Of course, this isn't the first time I've heard of a dj getting the shaft at Starbar.

Yeah point well taken. Sad to think a club might have to prepare it's patrons for a DJ. Would be nice if the club kids could expect the unexpected and be pleasantly surprised as a result...

Anyways, Martins back in a couple months here in Detroit drumming with Pigface so he can showcase his real talent there...
