Here at weddings (and I honeslty thought it was the same everywhere) you have to be invited to the ceremony and dinner (usually everyone you invite to the ceremony goes to the dinner) and then everyone goes to the dancing afterwards. Normally ppl invite family and close friends and then open up the dancing to everyone at night. Usually the reception (dancing part) is put in the paper too so that everyone knows about it.

Yeah, here if you are invited to the ceremony, you are invited to the reception, which is both dinner & dancing.

I guess in the UK, dinner and dancing are seperate, which i wish i had known.

for us there was an economical issue...as dinners are expensive, but having everyone at the dancing would have been fantastic!!!
