The problem is, most commercials are made for women because women are usually the ones at home doing nothing but watching TV taking care of the kids. Therefore, a lot of these commercials are geared towards them and the general madness that is women (I guess). I personally hate all commercials that would rather focus on the male and female steriotypes of the world than the product. They are shit.
Guess what else was shit? The end of the new Indiana Jones movie. Aliens? I'm sorry but Spielberg should just stop touching my childhood.
I also am not a fan of the TV weezling things at me like "feminine itch" and "embarrassing odor" particularly right after a goddamn breakfast cereal commercial. Cooter Cream and Cocoa Puffs are now indelibly linked in my mind.
Fuck that fat fuck Lucas, and fuck Spielberg for playing along.
LOLZ. Smeg loved the new Indiana Jones movie. I haven't seen it yet. I think I heard something about aliens, though. I understand your angst. There's mysticism and then there's batshitism!
God, I hate the prim wife/oafish husband ads!! I would never want to live like that!! I don't really think many people DO. I'm sure there are tidy husbands and slovenly wives, and people who are both one or both the other, and it's fucking 2008 so I think many people are willing to put in effort and compromise when it comes to domestic issues. It reminds me of an article in the paper the other week about stay-at-home dads who are sick of being seen as child molesters or incompetents. They want people to acknowledge their position and see that it's not so weird! And yet advertising still panders to this bizarre outdated stereotype. Fuck it.
