Talking Ten Tall Tales Told

Seventy-four thousand, ninety-three (74,093) is a special number. Why is 74093 so special? Well, it is the number of words in chapters one through thirteen of my elegant form of self-torture novel, Heart of Io. (Chapter 13 isn't quite finished yet but I'm getting there.) Writing a novel is slow and painful, just as anybody trying to write their ( Read more... )

I read your sidebar and hate you too. Hang in there, once you have reached seventy thousand words it's all downhill from there.

I didn't want to name names in the sidebar so I thought a blanket statement would be better.

That's what I'm afraid of, I think...

huh. i didn't realize the sidebar changed. probably because i've only known you on LJ for like a month, and you've only posted twice before that i've seen.

also: you hurt my feelers! :(

[smile at my joke? i'm lame today. sigh]

i wanted to ask this on Thursday, except i didn't [DID NOT!] want you think i was trying to get you to continue an every-week-game when you did not want to:

and that question is: you have set yourself a 9-hour schedule [which is cool, and way more that *I* can manage to make myself write] but why did you pick 9am-6pm? why not make a schedule that much more closely coincides with your normal sleep schedule? i would think the reverse time - 9pm to 6am - would be a bit easier. or maybe 4pm - 1am.

i guess what i am asking is, since the time is sort of arbitrary, why not pick an easier time for you? or even split - write from noon to 4, then write again from 10pm to 2am, or something.

i am about to start the 1st chapter btw. computer was rebooted and everything, so [knock on wood] all the tech issues should be gone :)

off topic - if i send that section of universe bible i mentioned, which email should i send it to?

1. Kay, it wouldn't have mattered overmuch anyhow.
2. The answer is because the classic office job is 9 to 5, and I like to go one step beyond.
3. Because nothing easy is worth doing and because it isn't arbitrary, it doesn't really bother me.
4. Neat.

My windows are covered in cardboard and duct tape. I don't know what "mornings" look like, precisely.

Thanks for making it impossible to read this journal entry ever again. I appreciate that.
