Summary: Dianna and Darren introduce their new relationship to their friends.
It all started when Darren was in the shower.
Dianna had spent the night at Darren’s house after dinner the day before. She and Darren had not seen each other since tour had ended and they thought they could get some dinner and just catch up. But Dianna had mentioned to Lea in passing that she was meeting up with Darren that night and Lea invited herself to come with them. Along with Chord, who invited Mark, who invited Cory, who invited Naya, who invited Heather, who invited Kevin, who invited Amber, and you see where it went from there. It ended up with the entire intermediate glee cast joining them for dinner that evening and she hadn’t even sat at the same table as Darren.
She did enjoy spending time with her friends, she loved them all, but she really just wanted to spend some time with her boyfriend after he returned from London. Well not boyfriend because they haven’t really told anyone, except they’ve hinted at Chris and they’re pretty sure he’s picked up on it, even though he makes no show of knowing.
So that’s how she ended up here, in Darren’s bed in one of his t-shirts that she slipped on before falling asleep. No, they hadn’t done anything; they just cuddled and caught up having not seen each other in person for about a week. Dianna had ended up falling asleep on the couch and they somehow made it into his room and she had changed into one of his t-shirts that ended up a little above mid thigh on her and he ended up shirtless and in his boxers. But still nothing happened.
“Well, I’ve got arms and you’ve got legs, together we’ve made some mistakes, but hey! We’re doing well.” Darren’s voice singing from the shower broke her out of her trance and she smiled. That was one of her favorites of Darren’s original songs, it had been played in her car and she had sung along countless times.
“Hey, baby,” she heard Darren call to her. “Could you answer that for me?”
Dianna nodded, after she realized that his phone was ringing and picked it up, pressing talk.
“Hello?”
“Hey, Da--, wait who is this?” A familiar female voice said through the speaker of the phone, confusion lacing through the person’s voice.
Before Dianna could respond, Darren had made it out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist. Dianna was too distracted by the site in front of her to focus on responding to the person on the phone.
A faint “Hello? Is anyone there?” was heard from the phone and Dianna remembered she was on the phone.
“Sorry, this is---.” Before she could explain to the person who she was, her words were cut off by Darren’s lips on her, his hand reaching for the phone.
“Thanks for answering,” He took the phone and walked toward his closet. “Hello?….Lauren shut up, I can’t understand you, now what.”
Oh right, Lauren. Lauren Lopez, she’s heard much about her. She was the only one in the immediate cast that hadn’t met Lauren yet, well any of the Starkids really, so no wonder they hadn’t recognized each other’s voices.
Dianna collected her clothes from the night before and got dressed, pulling a hair tie out of her purse and pulling her slightly longer hair up into a low ponytail.
“Darren?” She called out, loud enough for him to hear, but hopefully not loud enough for Lauren to hear.
“Hold on!” He called back, pulling his shirt over his head and walking out of closet, his phone long forgotten.
Dianna smiled at him and walked up to him to kiss his cheek. “I’m gonna go home and shower and stuff, Lea has texted me three times asking why my apartment was empty when she showed up. I totally forgot we planned to watch old movies this morning.”
Darren smiled back, pulling her into a hug and kissing her forehead. He pulled away from the hug and took her by the hand as they began walking toward his front door. “I’m sorry about Lauren, she’s sort of crazy.”
She laughed, “It’s fine, I’d be surprised too if some strange girl answered one of my supposedly single guy’s friends phone.” She thought about something and her playful banter turned serious. “Did you tell her?”
Darren sighed, “Well, she wants to get together with Joey and Walker and do something tonight. And I told her I’d explain when I see her. So it’s sort of up to you if you want me to tell her or not.”
Dianna sighed, this thing between them had been going on for about a month and maybe it was time to let people know. “I guess you could tell them.”
“Are you sure? I can just tell her I don’t want to talk about, they might be upset but they’ll get over it.”
“Yeah, I mean, we’re not on tour anymore and we have some time between now and when we start filming again, so we might as well tell people.”
“If you’re sure, but it’d be totally better if you just came with me tonight.”
“But I don’t even know them, what if they don’t like me?”
As they reached the door, Darren stood with his back towards it, Dianna in front of him. He looked into her eyes and smiled. “It doesn’t matter if they like you or not, which I’m pretty sure they will like you, because, really, what’s not to like? But I like you, I really like you, and that all that matters. Yeah, they’re my friends and I value their opinion but the final decision is mine, and nothing they can say can make me stop liking you.” He ended kissing her forehead.
Dianna nodded, “Okay, I’ll come with you.” She smiled at him. “But in order to do that, I need to go home and get changed and at least watch one movie with Lea. Can I tell her?”
“But I don’t want you to go!” He whined playfully, pouting slightly. “You do whatever you’d like, I’m proud to belong to you. I want to shout on the rooftops, or at least on twitter.”
Dianna laughed, wrapping her arms around his waist. “I don’t think that’s absolutely necessary, but I’m proud to be yours. I won’t hide it from her where I’ve been, but I won’t come right out and say it, but knowing Lea, she probably already knows something’s up. What time are you leaving?”
“But our fans would love that we’re being so open about it. I told Lauren I’d meet her at the restaurant at 8, so I’ll come pick you up at 7:30?”
“Sounds perfect, just call when you’re on your way.” Dianna kissed him before making her way out the door and towards her car.
Darren sighed and smiled, he was definitely falling harder for her.
