Oh, that was just wonderful and perfect in every way. I loved Remus' anger and resentment, and Sirius being so desperate to make it all better but not knowing how. *joyful squees*

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it : ) The story really wasn't working until I figured out what Remus was feeling, so it's great that you think it worked!

I loved Remus' impotent frustration and anger, and Sirius' devotion.
I particularly like this:
Sirius both loves and hates these moments - James teasing him makes it all seem normal, but the normality gives him too much hope.

That line is so true - poor Sirius.

Thanks!

What an absorbing story! Your Sirius was wonderful - I loved the "If you fall, I will pull you up" paragraph especially, made me all teary. V thoughtful characterisation of Remus, a bit different from what we usually see, but very believable.

"If you fall, I will pull you up" is ripped off from the Bible (Ecclesiastes something or other), but then most good lines are ; ) I'm glad you found Remus believable - I think he was probably very calm and considerate at Hogwarts, but once he got into the real world it must have tried his patience. After Hallowe'en 1981, I suspect he would have given up a little.

It was great to see a Remus who's angry at his situation, at the society that shuns him - much more believable than the Remus at HBP, for instance.

And Sirius was just lovely.

Excellent story.

I think the Remus in HBP has given up, really. Suffered to much to bother fighting any more. This Remus is fresh out of Hogwarts, having been coddled a little by the environment of friends and academia and creature comforts.

Poor Remus : /

I'm glad you liked it, thanks for commenting!

*contented sigh* finally got around to reading this for the second or third time. love it so so much. I love angry Remus and understanding Sirius and just everything, everything, everything. but especially this:
Sirius leans forward, pressing his lips to Remus’s as one presses a seal to an envelope. It seems final and complete, a deal done and signed. “I love you,” Sirius whispers into his mouth.

mmm.. so perfect. Thank you, luv.
