Thanks for your note, you're absolutely right, we should have asked first and of course if we had known you would be offended we would have. It didn't occur to me at the time as I was simply trying to think of giving back to those who had helped us out. It didn't seem fair to post things for all these people who couldn't be bothered to finish their submissions and let the ones that filled in for those people go unnoticed. Again, my apologies and regrets.

It was an honest mistake by a couple of first-timers.

There are better ways of dealing with this than publicly chiding people. Your tone is uncalled for. Sometimes a private discrete inquery is more appropriate.

It was a simple mistake, but you, my dear, are overreacting.
