Pairing: HimLo

Length: drabbles
These go along with
A Day in the Life. I had a lot of requests for a sequel but I couldn't pin down an exact plot to use because there's so many little moments I wanted to write about so I did these instead. Warning: Three super cheesy drabbles ahead.

Himchan glared at the taller boy, his hands crossed across his chest. "You're going to have to do it sometime."
"But I don't want to." Junhong worriedly eyed the closed door, hoping Jongup wouldn't open it any time soon. "You know how scared it makes me."
"We can't keep avoiding this forever. You’re just going to have to man up and jump in." Himchan sighed and reached forward to undo the buttons on Junhong's shirt.
He shrieked and batted his hands away. "What are you doing?"
"It's easier if you don't have so many clothes on." Himchan explained as if he was talking to a small child. "Trust me, I've done it thousands of times."
Junhong bit his lip. "Fine." He muttered childishly, reaching up to unbutton his own shirt. "But I can take off my own shirt."
Himchan pulled a rubber headband out of his pocket. At Junhong’s exasperated look he shrugged his shoulders. "It can get really wet okay. You don't want your hair matted into your eyes."
"I hate you." Junhong swung his shirt, hitting Himchan in the face.
"You adore me."
“What if I’m not any good at it?”
Himchan chuckled as he pressed his lips against Junhong’s cheek. “We can always try again tomorrow. Practice makes perfect.”
He put his hand on the bathroom door and shuddered. "Pray for me. I'm going in."
When he came out twenty minutes later Himchan had to bite back a laugh at the stunned expression on his boyfriend's face. He eyed the boy's soaking wet clothes and dripping hair. "You're going to make my carpet soggy."
"How can one little boy make such a big mess?"
Himchan chuckled and shut the door behind him. "Now you know why I'm always busy at bath time and call my mother up to help him. He splashes so much he's already rotted the floor out once."
"I feel like I need a nap." Junhong collapsed in the floor and tugged on his damp jeans. "Can you help me?”
He missed the way Himchan's eyes lit up at the request, his fingers already itching to slide the material off and see the long, pale legs that he had grown obsessed with.
"Don't even think about it, Kim Himchan."
Okay, maybe he didn't miss it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Junhong wasn’t sure if he had ever felt this nervous. Not even on his first day of teaching. The butterflies in his stomach were flapping their wings at warp speed and evertime he swallowed there was a slight clicking sound. Maybe he should have that checked o-
“Are you ready?” Himchan’s hand slid against his, breath warm and comforting against Junhong’s sweaty neck.
He nodded. “I guess it’s time, right? He’s going to figure it out eventually. I’d rather he heard it straight from us.”
Himchan smiled. “It will be fine, Junhong. Guppie adores you. He practically worships the ground you walk on. Every night he asks if you’re coming over to see us.”
Junhong bit his lip and frowned. “I want to, you know that. It’s just that we live so far apart and I’m so tired in the morn-“
“Hey, hey!” Himchan wrapped his arms around Junhong’s waist and pressed a kiss to his jaw. “It’s okay baby. I just meant that he already knows you’re more than just a teacher to him. You’re special.” His eyes softened and his kisses lasted a little bit longer. “And I kind of worship the ground you walk on, too. Let's get this over with and maybe I'll show you how fond of you I am.”
“But what if he doesn’t understand?” Junhong was so worried that he was going to break down in tears that he missed the suggestive tilt of the older boy’s voice. “What if he asks how two men can be together?”
Himchan tugged him towards the door. “I’ll tell him that when you love someone it doesn’t matter what they look like. He won’t even think twice about it, trust me.”
They let themselves into Jongup's bedroom where he was quietly mouthing along with his reading homework. "I need help, Appa." He pointed to a word on the page and scrunched his face up. "What is this word?"
Junhong slid the book out of his lap and laid it to the side. "I'll help you with your work in a minute, but first your Appa and I wanted to talk to you."
He wondered why he felt so nervous with a five year old boy's eyes on him. This was more nerve-wracking than the day he told his parents he was gay and they had gotten so angry they kicked him out. This was his Guppie, he told himself. His approval meant more than anyone's.
"I didn't mean to!" Jongup's face crumpled and tears started leaking out of the corner of his eyes. "I promise I tried to clean it off!"
Himchan settled him against his chest and ran fingers through his soft brown hair. "What are you talking about, Jongup? You're not in trouble."
"You mean you're not going to yell at me for dropping your toothbrush in the toilet?"
If this was any other circumstance Junhong would have laughed at the completely horrified expression on his boyfriend's face.
"Y-you what, oh god..." He shook his head, trying to get back on subject. "No, that's not what we want to talk to you about. But you will be paying for a new toothbrush with your allowance." He mumbled under his breath. "Look, Junhong and I want to explain to you why he's been spending so much time over here with us."
Jongup leaned over Junhong's lap and grabbed his reading book. "Oh. I already know why, Appa." He held the book in Junhong's face and pointed to the word again. "I still can't read this word, Junhonggie-hyung."
Himchan's face paled as he looked at Junhong over the little boy's head. "You know why?" He asked carefully. "What is it?"
"Because hyung is your girlfriend." Jongup tried mouthing through the word again and growled when he still couldn't get it. "Yongguk said that boys couldn't be girlfriends but I said he was yours and then he stole my milk at snack time. I don't like that boy very much."
Chuckling behind his hand, Junhong didn't blame him. Yongguk was the most spirited child in the class. Last week he had set the class bunny free and claimed it was because his noona had told him it was mean to cage animals. It had taken Junhong forty-five minutes to capture Mr. Matoki and put him back in his home.
"No baby." Himchan softened his voice and waited until Jongup looked up at him. "Junhong isn't my girlfriend, he's my boyfriend. But we do all the things boyfriends and girlfriends do."
"Do you kiss him?" Jongup looked scandalized, his lips curling up in disgust. "That's gross. What if he had cooties?"
"Then I'd brush my teeth." Junhong interrupted. "Just not with Appa's toothbrush." He smiled innocently at the glare Himchan gave him. "Is this okay, Jongup? It doesn't make you upset?"
He shrugged, not caring either way. "Will you still be my teacher?"
"Of course." Junhong reassured him. "You have a few more months left in kindergarten and I'll be there every single day with you."
"Good." Jongup placed his book in Junhong's lap and pointed sternly to the page he was on. "The third word. Go away Appa I'm learning right now."
Junhong breathed a sigh of relief as he helped Jongup sound out the characters. The little boy still liked him and Himchan and him had actually done something big together, pushing their relationship a small step ahead.
"Next time will be the talk about why you and Appa sleep in the same bed." Himchan whispered in his ear on his way out, winking at the shocked look on his boyfriend's face. "Finish your homework and we'll go out for some ice cream."
"Wait, Himchan. What did you mean? When is that happening? We've not talked about that! Himchan, don't walk away from me!"
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“So what do you want to do on your last day of Kindergarten?” Junhong held Jongup’s hand as they walked up the street together. “Appa has to work late tonight so it’s just us.”
Jongup chewed on his lip as he thought about it. His Appa was more strict with him than Junhonggie-hyung was. This could be his chance to do something really really fun and get away with it.
“Let’s go to the park!” He exclaimed, swinging Junhong’s hand back and forth. “And it’s so muddy and I wanna jump in the puddles and get all dirty and then I wanna come home and take a bubble bath!”
That wasn’t what Junhong was expecting. He thought Jongup would ask for a pizza or to stay up an extra hour after bedtime to watch a movie. Not to get covered head to toe in mud and ask for a bath, especially when they both knew that Jongup wasn’t allowed bubble baths anymore. Not after the great bubble bath incident of March. “I don’t know Guppie… That might make Appa angry.”
The little boy had been around Junhong so long that he knew the exact pout to give him to get whatever he wanted. “But hyungggggg, you said I could pickkkkkk.” He wrapped his arms around Junhong’s legs, barely coming up to his waist and whined. “Appa said he won’t be home till nine. That’s the number in the middle of the left side of my clock. And I counted this morning and it’s almost six numbers after I get home from school. That is a very long time hyung.”
At least the boy had been paying attention during math class, Junhong though wryly. “Alright. But you are allowed to only jump into one puddle. And you get half a cup of bubble bath instead of a full one.” He tried to twist his face into one of respect. “Got it mister?”
Jongup nodded eagerly, pulling Junhong along behind him. “Lemme find a good one then. I don’t wanna waste my jump on a little one.” They circled the park twice before Jongup finally settled on one near the duck pond. “This one hyung!” He ripped his backpack off and threw it towards Junhong before backing up all the way to the swingset. “Here I go!”
Junhong wisely moved away from the puddle right when Jongup landed inside of it. The splash was still large enough to splatter a streak across his shoes, but he looked practically sterile compared to Jongup. “Oh Guppie…” He pulled a handkerchief out of his jacket pocket and gently wiped off the boy’s mud covered face. “Your Appa is just going to kill me.”
“No he won’t.” Jongup smiled happily as Junhong lifted him out of the puddle. “He told me that his left side is wrapped around my finger and that his right side is wrapped around yours and that’s why he can never be mad at us.” He didn’t catch the blush that grew across Junhong’s cheeks.
Nor did he see the grin on his Appa’s face that night as Junhong slowly backed him into their bedroom, lips quietly murmuring how much he loved him and that he belonged to him forever.
