The way Himchan found out was purely by accident. Jongup wasn’t stupid (even if he was called that by all of his friends on numerous occasions), and he had known him long enough to know that you never gave Kim Himchan that kind of power of you. It never ended well.
But when Himchan showed up at his apartment with a bottle of scotch and a chocolate cake and yelled out an excited “Happy birthday, Jonguppie!” he was done for. That smile and the happy curve of his eyes always sucked him in before spitting him out hours later with normally a hangover and sometimes a bruise or two.
When you touched his best friend then Jongup would probably punch you. That was a rule he lived by even if he wasn’t drinking his way into oblivion.
“I told you I couldn’t do anything for my birthday until this weekend.” He held the door open anyway because once Himchan showed up there was no getting him to leave until he had done what he came for. “I have to work tomorrow morning.”
Himchan scoffed as he kicked his shoes off and shoved the bottle towards him. “Who wants to work on the night before their birthday anyways? You can always call in sick. After drinking that entire scotch we’re both going to call in sick tomorrow. Besides,” He set the cake on the coffee table and made himself comfortable on the couch. “Yongguk and Daehyun are on their way.”
He groaned and unscrewed the lid. Yep, tonight he was probably going to need this entire bottle of scotch because a night with Daehyun would drive anyone to drinking.
If he had known that in a couple of hours he would be spilling his innermost deepest, darkest secret he had into Himchan’s waiting ear then he would have thought twice about tipping the drink back and taking an oversized gulp.
--
“You’re the most amazing cook ever.” Daehyun reached over Jongup’s lap to grab the cake pan and scoop the last remaining square onto his plate. “If I had you cooking for me every night I would probably weigh three hundred pounds. How is Jongup still so skinny?”
“Self-control.” Jongup told him, pinching the side of Daehyun’s stomach. “Something you need to learn.”
Daehyun froze with the fork halfway to his mouth. “Are you calling me fat?” He pointed the utensil at Yongguk’s back and raised his eyebrows in a rage. “Aren’t you going to avenge me?”
Yongguk kept his eyes on Jongup’s TV, fingers flying over the controller in his hand as his character pushed Himchan’s car off of the racetrack. “Jongup don’t call my boyfriend fat. Daehyun don’t eat the entire cake or you’ll get fat.” He pumped his fist into the air and cheered. “Yes! First place!”
“Lucky break.” Himchan groused as he pushed Jongup’s knees apart to lean back into him. “Did Dae seriously eat all of the cake because that was supposed to be enough to last you all week.”
He absentmindedly reached down to smooth his fingers through Himchan’s thick hair. “Didn’t we learn anything from Yongguk’s birthday party? You make a regular cake and you make a Daehyun cake.”
The huffing boy beside him crossed his arms and continued to glare at the back of his boyfriend’s head. “If you don’t stand up for me I swear to god I won’t do that thing with th-“
“Stop talking shit about Daehyun.” Yongguk ordered, turning back to them with a frown. “And someone get me a beer because that scotch has been empty for twenty minutes.”
“Let’s play a game.” Daehyun whined an hour later after they realized they were almost too drunk to play the video games and were way too drunk to follow a two hour movie plot. “I’m bored.”
Himchan looked up with an eye roll from where he was still sitting between Jongup’s knees, head on his thigh as the other boy traced the curve of his neck with a fingertip. “We’re not playing Twister again. It took me a month to get that spasm out of my back.”
“He cheats at Monopoly, too.” Yongguk offered from the kitchen, head popping over the open fridge door. “And I found some Candy Land cards in his jacket pocket last week.”
“You’re all assholes.” Daehyun muttered, kicking Himchan’s arm away from the bowl of pretzels on the couch. “Let’s do Truth or Dare.”
“I’m not running outside in my underwear again.” Jongup warned him. “You locked me out and Old Lady Woo still winks every time I see her.”
Daehyun watched the way Jongup smiled down at Himchan and brushed his bangs out of his eyes. If anyone had been watching, and Yongguk would never admit he saw it coming, they would see the plan forming in those diabolical eyes. “Truth or dare, Jongup.”
The sleepy-eyed boy looked over at him in deep thought. “Truth. I’m not dumb enough to pick a dare from you.”
“Biggest turn on.”
The answer came without a second thought as his eyes watched the way Himchan chewed his lower lip. Front teeth sunk into the lower red flesh and leaving barely visible teeth marks whenever they pulled away. “Bunny teeth.” It was only after Himchan’s lip popped free and he looked up at him in surprise did Jongup realize what a grand catastrophic mistake he had made. And when his best friend’s mouth slowly started to curl up in sly amusement Jongup felt his heart stop because this was exactly the worst thing that could possibly happen to him.
Himchan was unstoppable when he had power over you.
--
Every time the phone rang for the next few days Jongup jumped because he thought it would be Himchan ready to cash in on his teasing but it was almost always Daehyun asking through laughter if Himchan had mentioned his slip up yet.
“He’s plotting something.” Jongup told him, carefully pulling his blinds aside to look outside. You could never be too careful when it came to Himchan. Just when you felt safe there he was, ready to tear you apart. “He’s going to show up at Youngjae’s party with rabbit ears and a tail on and he’s going to embarrass the hell out of me.”
“No he’s not.” Daehyun didn’t actually know that, but he was pretty confident that Himchan wouldn’t do anything too horrible. A blind man couldn’t miss the way they had been dancing around each other for years. “He’s probably just busy at work and hasn’t had time to tease you about it yet. By the time you go to Jae’s party he’ll have just forgotten all about it. Don’t worry so much.”
But Jongup knew better. He had seen the way Himchan caught on to how Yongguk always hid his face when they watched sad movies and then proceeded to pick purposely heart-wrenching films just to make him cry. And when Daehyun had accidentally left his phone behind while using the bathroom Himchan had quickly scanned through his photos and emailed all of the scandalous pictures to himself “just in case he needed a favor in the years to come”. No, Jongup had no doubt in his mind that Himchan would drag this out for as long as possible and then humiliate him in front of everyone.
He had told him he didn’t want to celebrate his birthday that night. He just knew it was a bad idea. Look where it had gotten him.
--
“Happy belated birthday!” Youngjae pulled him into a quick hug when he opened the door the next evening. “I got you a cake in the freezer but I know Himchan probably made you something fantastic and tiered with three different flavors and ten times better than an ice cream cake.” His head swiveled to the side when he heard his name called from the living room. “Anyways, sorry you don’t know half the people here but consider it half a birthday party and half a ‘get drunk and sleep with a stranger’ kind of party. Talk to you later!” He called before running off.
“Yay.” Jongup muttered, pushing his way through the packed house to the kitchen. He may not have been in a partying mood but he at least had a cake to enjoy while he was there. “Dammit Daehyun! Again?!”
Daehyun wiped his mouth off hastily and hid the plate behind his back. “Um… Happy birthday?”
“There better be some left or I’m forwarding the picture of you in fishnet stockings to every single person we graduated with.”
“Wait, how do you know about that picture?” Daehyun’s face turned red. “Were you in my phone?”
“I thought that was my blackmail.” A raspy voice whispered in his ear, just before Jongup felt himself being pulled backwards into Himchan’s chest. “How’s my birthday boy?”
He fought hard to control the tremors that being pressed against Himchan always sent through his body. It was almost like he purposely molded himself to fit perfectly against Jongup and in the beginning it scared him to death but tonight he was just annoyed by it. Stupid Kim Himchan with his stupid dimpled eye smile and his stupid bunny teeth.
“You haven’t called me in four days.” He grumbled, untangling himself from the tight hold. “And I really wanted that ice cream cake.”
Himchan was grinning when he turned him around to look up at him. The two front teeth that had gotten Jongup into so much trouble were so close to him that he had to look away before a flush crept over him from head to toe.
“I had to work open to close so that I could have tonight off for the party.” Himchan told him, shoving Daehyun away from the fridge so that he could rummage through the freezer for the cake pan. “And I figured you were mad at me for getting you so drunk on a work night. So I didn’t want to bother you.” He pulled two forks out of the drawer and jumped up onto the counter, patting the spot beside him for Jongup to join. “Did you miss me?”
“No.” It was a lie and they both knew it because they normally talked every day and one time Himchan fell asleep and didn’t answer and Jongup beat on his front door with the police on speed dial. “Did you miss me?”
“Every second.” Himchan answered, biting down on the fork and wrinkling his nose at him.
Jongup still felt tense sitting beside his best friend because as soon as he let his guard down he figured that was when Himchan would attack. He’d already made it a point to show off his teeth every time he smiled at him and it was so obvious what he was doing. The waiting was killing him so much that he almost wished Himchan would just do it and get it over with so things could go back to normal.
When Himchan asked him how his week had gone he jumped a foot in the air and dropped his fork making Himchan burst out into loud laughter. “You’re as jumpy as a rabbit.” The comment was thrown over his shoulder as he hopped down to grab another fork so he couldn’t see the horrified expression it made Jongup make. “Here.” The utensil was handed to him without another comment.
The cake didn’t last very long (mainly thanks to the oversized chunk Daehyun had already demolished) so Himchan soon left in search of something for them to drink.
“You’re sweating.” Daehyun came back into the kitchen, eyes glazed over and arm laced around Yongguk’s back so that he stayed upright. “Are you going to throw up on him before you sleep with him, because that’s not cool Jongup.”
“What?” He was glad Himchan had taken the cake pan and stuck it in the sink because he probably would have dropped something again. “I’m not going to sleep with-“ He closed his mouth when Himchan strolled back into the kitchen with two tumbler’s of beer in his hands.
Himchan kicked playfully at Daehyun as he walked past. “Hey dumbass. Aren’t you close to passing out yet? You’ve probably had a thimble-full of alcohol already and that’s past your fairy-sized limit.”
Daehyun tried to growl but it came out as a weak choking sound. “Jongup’s the same size as me.” He told him haughtily.
“Jongup’s a man.” Himchan replied flippantly, resting his elbow on Jongup’s knee. “I’m still undecided on what you are.”
“I’m Yongguk’s and he’s bigger than you so be nice.” Daehyun tried to think of a better insult but failed and shamefully tugged on Yongguk’s shirt. “I need to piss and you have to help me.”
Yongguk sighed as he half-walked half-carried his boyfriend towards the bathroom. “You’re lucky you’re cute.”
“I gave you the best blow job of your life in the car.” Daehyun didn’t care the comment turned Yongguk’s skin a fiery shade of red. “And I let you fuck me whenever you want.” He stopped suddenly, making Yongguk trip and fall forward. “Oh. My. God. We fuck like rabbits.” Turning to Jongup and Himchan he pointed to them and laughed so hard he fell against a barely standing Yongguk. “Do you get it? We’re like rabbits and Jongup has a thing for-“ The rest of his exclamation was muffled as Yongguk slapped a palm over his mouth and dragged him out, apologizing loudly to everyone they passed.
Jongup closed his eyes and lowered his head, waiting for what he figured was coming next.
“I’m going to go find Youngjae and ask how he made that cake.” Himchan said instead. “It was really good. I’ll catch up with you later.”
He patted Jongup’s leg and left the empty tumbler on the counter before leaving him alone in the kitchen. Jongup watched him walk out and was glad no one was around to see the dumbfounded look on his face.
What was Himchan up to?
--
Three hours later and still he was nothing but a ball of jumbled nerves and anxiety. Daehyun had passed out ages ago and was in a heap at Yongguk’s feet as he kept Jongup company on the back porch.
“Where’s your sidekick been all night? Usually he’s attached to your hip.” Yongguk lit a cigarette and leaned back on the glider they were sharing. He nudged Daehyun with his toe to see if he was still dead drunk and when he was satisfied he was, Yongguk used him as a footstool for his feet. “Who would have thought I’d end up with someone who passes out after five beers.”
Jongup could hear the fondness in Yongguk’s voice as he smiled down at his unconscious boyfriend. “Himchan’s been ignoring me all night and it’s making me crazy.”
Yongguk glanced at him out of the corner of his eyes. “I don’t think Himchan could ignore you even if you told him to.”
He shrugged, trying to downplay the hurt in his response. “He talked to me when I got here but then he ran off and I haven’t seen him since.” It was weird that he actually wanted Himchan to tease him for what he had so stupidly blurted out on his birthday. At least if he was making fun of him that meant he was still nearby. This whole “let’s watch Jongup turn into a nervous wreck and break” thing was verging on just plain mean. “I think I freaked him out.”
With loud laughter, Yongguk nudged him with his shoulder and shook his head. “It would take a lot more than telling him his teeth turn you on to freak him out, Jongup. I’m pretty sure you just did the opposite. Maybe you should go find him and talk about it. Himchan’s a goofball a lot of times but you know as well as I do that he adores the shit out of you and doesn’t have a cruel bone in his body when it comes to you.”
He wasn’t so sure about that anymore but at least if he forced Himchan to talk to him they could get it all out of their systems and maybe things could go back to how they were before. Where Himchan would be squished into the glider with them, his arm heavy and safe around Jongup’s neck as they took turns drawing obscene pictures all over Daehyun’s face.
“Sure.” Jongup jumped up before he could psych himself out and took Yongguk’s beer out of his hands to finish the bottle off. “Okay. Yeah. I’m going.”
“Good luck!” Yongguk called out to him as he leaned down to carefully lift Daehyun onto his lap.
He searched the rooms for Himchan, glad the thick crowd had thinned down so that he would be easier to spot. When he finally found him coming out of a bathroom at the end of the hall he breathed a sigh of relief and walked steadily towards him.
“Hey Jongup, where have you been? I was looking for you e-“ He cut off with an oomph as Jongup pushed him back into the bathroom and slammed and locked the door behind them.
“No you weren’t. You’ve been ignoring me all night and I want to know why and I want to know how I can fix it.”
Himchan’s lips parted as he blinked down at him. “I wasn’t ignoring you.” He told him finally. “I could tell being around me earlier was uncomfortable for you so I was just staying out of your way for a while.”
Jongup was still vibrating with confidence but he knew it wouldn’t last forever so he needed to do what he needed to do before it evaporated and he turned back into scared as hell Jongup.
“Just do it.” He told him, bouncing on the balls of his feet, trying to keep his energy up. “Just get it over with so that we can be normal again.”
As his head cocked to the side, Himchan’s brows furrowed in confusion. “Do what, Jongup? How drunk are you exactly? You’re not making any sense.”
“Make fun of me!” He blurted out. “I said your teeth turn me on so go ahead, torture me and get it all out. I’m ready for it, I really am.”
Finally, Himchan burst into laughter, his eyes tearing up by the time he had calmed down. “Seriously? That’s why you’ve been so weird around me? You thought I was going to blackmail you?” He rolled his eyes and relaxed the shoulders that had been tight ever since Jongup shoved him into the tiny room. “Jongup, I may be a lot of things. Asshole for sure. But in what world do you think I would ever be like that to you? You’re my partner in crime you idiot.”
“But… Then why…?” Jongup lost his confidence in one swift burst and blinked up at him. “You really don’t care then?”
Himchan lost the bright amusement in his eyes and the cocky smile that Jongup both loved and feared appeared again on his lips. “Should I care?” He asked calmly, taking a step towards the now terrified Jongup. “Do you want me to care?”
The tables had turned and once again Himchan stood in front of him with all of the control and Jongup didn’t know what to say.
“What exactly do you like about them?” Himchan’s smile broadened as he asked. “They’re kind of silly.”
Jongup shook his head frantically, eyes glued to the way Himchan’s tongue poked between them to run across the line of his teeth. “No,” He breathed. “They’re amazing.”
“Tell me.” Himchan ordered, one more step closer, sweater brushing against Jongup’s t-shirt. “What do you think about when you see them? How do they turn you on?”
“Imprints.” Jongup could smell his cologne and the scent of alcohol still on his breath and it made his muddled brain hazy and hot. “If they’d only leave two. And how hard you’d have to bite to make the rest show up.”
“Do you want to find out?”
“God yes.”
Himchan spun him around and flattened him to the door, lifting Jongup’s arms over his head and holding them together with one hand. “On a scale of one to ten, how drunk are you?”
“Drunk enough to be worried I’m going to get off in my pants like a thirteen year old.” Jongup panted against the door as Himchan’s palm slid down his side. “Not drunk enough to not know what I’m doing.”
“Drunk enough to be okay with this in the morning?” Himchan was still slowly stroking down his side but his normally confident voice was weaker as he pressed the smallest of kisses to the side of Jongup’s neck. “Not so drunk that you’ll think I took advantage of you?”
Jongup was near to boiling from the feel of Himchan on his back and covering his arms and breathing hot against his skin. “I pretty much told everyone I masturbate to the thought of you biting me, I don’t think you have to worry about me regretting this.” He pushed his bottom backwards and moaned into the crook of his elbow. “And if you screw around with me and then leave me you already know Daehyun will murder you with his bare hands.”
“Stupid boy.” Himchan purred the insult into his ear, hand tightening around the wiggling wrists above them. “You’ve belonged to me for years and never even knew it. Why do you think your last boyfriend stopped calling?”
He jerked his head up and tried to free himself but Himchan was a lot stronger than his soft body made him seem. “You scared Junhong off?”
“I went to his house and told him if he broke your heart that I’d break his neck and the kid turned tail and ran.” Himchan’s tongue slid across the lobe of Jongup’s ear, causing him to buck against the wall and forget why he was even angry in the first place. “Hold still. I’m trying to test your question.” He reached up to pull the hem of Jongup’s t-shirt to the side and kissed his way down to the juncture of his shoulder. When Jongup felt the first dull scrape of teeth on his sensitive skin he was glad Himchan was so close because his entire body transformed into jelly and he threw his head back letting Himchan catch him. “I’ve got you.” Himchan’s voice was like gravel against him and only made served to turn Jongup on impossibly more.
“Bite me.” Jongup whispered as Himchan let go of his wrists to grab him around the waist. “Make it hurt.”
Himchan could never hurt him enough that he had to be frightened, Jongup was sure of it. But he wanted to be pushed to the breaking point, all the way to the thin line that separated intense pain from mind-blowing pleasure. And he wanted it to be with Himchan, only Himchan.
When they first sunk into his skin, the flesh pulling and pinching and so, so painful, Jongup found himself shoved harder into the door as Himchan had to work more to keep them both upright. His jerking only served to tear his skin further and made him moan loudly in the tiny room.
“Himchan, Himchan, Himchan,” He kept repeating his name until Himchan’s fingers clumsily reached for the button to his jeans, teeth finally detaching so that he could gauge how much more Jongup could take.
“Jesus, Jongup.” Himchan swallowed thickly as he finally managed to undo the stuck button and dart his hand inside the painfully tight jeans, palm heavy atop of Jongup’s boxers. “You’re like a damn tornado.”
He was too close to coming to be embarrassed by the high-pitched sounds and full-body shake he was making and he could feel that it was making Himchan harder against him the louder he became.
“Again.” Jongup demanded, reaching behind him to tug impatiently at Himchan’s dampened hair. “Harder.”
“If I bite any harder I’m going to break your skin.” The thought of tearing into that soft tanned skin and leaving a bite mark that would last for weeks, maybe even permanently, already had his body crying out for more.
Jongup turned to look up at him with glazed eyes and lips red from where he had been digging his own teeth into them to muffle the louder of the sounds. “I want your teeth marks all over me.”
“People will see them.”
“Good.” The shy gentle Jongup that was his best friend had disappeared the second he had gotten his hands on him and now he had bossy sex kitten Jongup staring needily his direction. Both made him ache. “Mark me.”
He didn’t need to be told again. If Jongup was still verging on drunk then he had given him enough time to pull back, but the dynamo was begging him for more. As soon as his teeth sunk into the sore circle of flesh already darkening on his shoulder, Himchan walked his fingers to the hem of Jongup’s boxers and slipped inside, grinning at the guttural tone that Jongup’s cries turned into.
Gripping tightly onto Jongup over his hip and inside of his jeans, Himchan sucked the swollen skin of his shoulder into his mouth and rolled his teeth across it until coppery blood hit his tongue and Jongup was trying so hard to drown out his sounds with his fingers between his lips.
He moved against him slowly at first but by the time he had Jongup sobbing brokenly into the air he was using the sounds as the beat he needed to work himself up into a faster rhythm.
Jongup cried his name out loudly and Himchan felt his hand become warm and sticky inside his jeans. Knowing he was what made Jongup lose control was more than enough to have his hips stuttering and he groaned Jongup’s name into the smaller boy’s sweaty neck.
It took him several minutes to recover enough that he could lift his head and see the damage he had made to Jongup’s perfect skin.
“Shit. You’re bleeding pretty hard.”
“Worth it.” Jongup panted, adjusting his jeans and wrinkling his nose at the grimy feeling inside of them. He surprised Himchan by holding his head still and lapping softly at the red traces around his lips. “We still good?”
Himchan’s heart hurt when he looked into Jongup’s sated eyes and sleepy smile. “Well I’m no longer sleeping on the couch when I stay the night. And there’s going to be a lot more naked time in the apartment. But yeah.” He slid his lips against Jongup’s with a grin. “We’re still good. Better than good.”
Jongup hummed in happiness and let Himchan doctor up his wound with supplies from the medicine cabinet. “Truth or dare.”
“Seriously?” He raised an eyebrow at him. “Truth.”
“What turns you on?”
It took a second for Himchan to answer as he bit back a grin while taping a bandage across Jongup’s shoulder. “Jongup.” He told him honestly. “Just Jongup.”
