What should I do with my hair......

I had my hair hi-lighted in March...it grows very fast and I now have about an inch worth of root.....as I'm currently not working I cannot afford to maintain the hi-lights at the salon...which charge £80 for a full head.

My local salon does 'flying highlights' - just a few highlights around the parting area which freshens up the roots, and you pay something like £2 per highlight. COuld be worth asking?
