So for the first time in a long while I've tried to get back into online roleplaying. Used to love it, but for a while it was kind of a chore. I started back up by questioning why I should even bother anymore since I didn't feel like it was time well spent. If I think what I have to offer is interesting to someone or maybe a little inspiring, then ( Read more... )

Are we talking about strangers when you refer to the online game? Because besides your unwillingness to investigate the mystery surrounding your character (but really everyone is guilty of that) i think you are doing fine. You are not taking up space you know if you guys get in a fight next session you are the only one with functioning weapon attacks. I already know john's gonna spaz when he realizes that but its been what four weeks?
As for d and d if you don't like where the characters are re-write their situation. The group faces an extreme threat one that has the power to change everything. If you don't where we are change it. If you don't like something we're doing say something about it instead of stewing on it like a mopey bitch. You always complain that you can't challenge us but i guarantee that when the group finally meets the enemy it will be an extreme challenge.

I know I can challenge the group if I really work at it. Well, most of the group. I am positive that if you were absent from the party I could kill the entire party with one NPC. My problems are more about the actual game. Back when I ran the large scale combat I told you all that I couldn't run an epic game where the players had no ambition for their characters. You have ambition, and have had it since we began playing. John has improved vastly since he got his build the way he likes it. John's mainly invested in running his academy, and I hope he can find more. I feel like James and Rob have very little in mind for their characters. You are all land owners now and the only concern they have is about what epic items they want or what third party feats they want or what templates they feel I owe them. Running simple adventures that basically level up the characters is fine at low level, but I feel there needs to be real substance for an epic game, and so far I just can't find any inspiration. This has been the first story I've felt ( ... )

Oi. I know how you feel. I'm trying to get a BESM (Set in Lunar; if you haven't played it, GO DO SO NOW XP) game going, but I haven't the foggiet idea of what to do. XP

If you aren't familiar with the system then you should definately read it and make sure that it's the right system for you. While it is a good generic anime system it also has its downfalls. As a GM is also requires that you put in a lot of work if you plan on making a game that's really memorable. Since there is no challenge rating system and you have to tailor make any enemies or NPCs. Since it is BESM and it's a heavy roleplaying system I would highly suggest making sure you are ready to put that effort in and that you have players that would do well in such an environment. It's not a system for everyone and you may end up with people who approach it like it's D&D and just want to fight everything.

Not really anything you couldn't think up on your own. Just thought I'd throw it out there.
