New Harley Quinn in comics?

Like these? Is it any good? Confused as to why no one is talking about it...it seems like they've sanitized her a bit too much? Or am I wrong? Just need to talk about this. Especially the love child bit...like whaaat?

I've seen some scans about the place, but I can't bring myself to read anything with Harls in it that's been written in recent years. I just feel like DC have ruined her, so I just can't. I think she looks a lot better than other incarnations of her, but. Meh. I miss my old girl.

Yes! I feel like they've been slowly sanitizing her? Like she was all crying and stuff because of the love child and its almost painting her as this unwilling participant in her relationship with The Jokerrr and like "oh thats horrible, poor Harley!" and I just don't SEE Harley as like...this battered woman. Not in her narrative no and I feel like DC is now throwing that whole "oh well she's this battered woman poor her, she needs to be independent" ONCE again.

WOW! I haven't seen these specific panels. However, I'm 99% positive this is from a non-canon comic series based off of the Injustice video game, which is why you probably aren't hearing much about it. That said, every scan I've seen from this series has been amazing and I wish I had picked it up. Furthermore, if a child was ever to come from this relationship, this is the only way it could play out and make any sense.

Yeah...but I don't feel like this couple would ever HAVE a baby. Love child or not. I think the story line is ridiculous. Harley would be quite versed in birth control I imagine...and I mean like I said above I feel like its further painting Harley as this battered woman victim and I just don't SEE her this way. I dunno...I feel like its further DC sanitization to tell people how horrible Harley's lifestyle is and how "oh well you shouldn't do this at home kids" and they never do that to anyone else but Harley because they're worried people will think they're romanticizing abusive relationships or some shit and I am honestly sick of DC doing that to Harley. Bruce Timm seems to be one of the only people who seems to know how to write her properly and understand her narrative. Ugh...

Oh, I absolutely agree 100%. But lately the concept has been pushed like crazy. If it were to happen, this is the only way that makes sense to me.

I know what you mean about making Harley a victim rather than a willing participant. It's frustrating. She has pain and sorrow and happiness and joy like everyone else. I think it's hard to portray that pain and sorrow in a non-victimized way though. I appreciate the struggle a writer can have with that. Ironically, i think this page does a good job of it. She made all the decisions based on what should become of this child and voluntarily returned to the Joker. It seems less 'I'm the victim' and more 'this is problem that I need to take care of and this is the way I've decided to do that'.

If I look at it this way it seems much better, thank you. I just feel like so many writers never understand how to write her and I dunno I guess that frustrates me but looking at it this way makes me feel better about it. =)
