Dangerous? Perhaps you are familiar with an old saying, regarding beggars and choosers. If Chrysler wants my money, they damn well better earn it. The banking bailout was a big enough mistake, we can't keep handing out money to any company that wants it without putting safeguards into place to see that it isn't wasted.
you don't hand money out to companies. THAT IS ALL. ALL. You just do not do it. Government control over large corporations is very bad and very dangerous. It imposes on your rights. If they can control a company. How long is it before the get the rights to control YOU?
When the government gives you an unemployment check, they require you to conform to certain additional rules that do not apply to self-sufficient citizens. More abstractly, if you want to use roads paid for by the government, you also have to conform to rules that do not apply to people who do not use them. This is no different. If a company does not want to be subject to control by the government, it can support itself.
As long as government-controlled corporations are not given special treatment or favored over competing corporations, and the government gets a positive return on the investment, I do not see the harm.
DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND # 1.....YOU DO NOT GIVE BIG CORPORATIONS MONEY IN THE FIRST PLACE. Businesses should be allowed to fail. Especially the car industry.
