They don't act like they're going to accept the contract... but I don't know how to get them to provide more for their children... if they're not going to bring me enough food (they brought a box of cereal, some apples and grapes, and 3 boxes of mac and cheese a month ago) and enough diapers for Shelby, then I need to be compensated for the moeny ( Read more... )

Honestly, just don't give them a choice. If they don't accept the contract and do as you ask, just don't watch them anymore. i know it sounds harsh, but you have to be able to take care of them. If their parents can't help, then you can't help their parents.

I don't know really...I'd charge them about $5 per hour, for 17 hours....that'll run them about $85 but you're watching the girls overnight. so you have to feed them again, bathe them, get them to actually go to bed....it'll be a night mare I'm sure. I wouldn't let them get away with less than $75.

nightmare to say the least- i'm glad troy won't be here when genia picks them up.. i think it'll be easier to negotiate with her... wish me luck, or something like that...

In all honesty, I wouldn't watch them overnight, I have heard how stressed you get from a few hours during the day. I can't imagine you would have any hair left at the end when the parents show up, whatever time that might turn out to be. :(

Yikes, it is exactly what I had to deal with whenever Elizabeth wanted me to watch TJ. They still owe me $200 bucks. She knows I have problems with her, because of that. And this weekend we will be around each other 24/7 - and boy oh boy I am waiting for her to say something about why I have buffs with her. -rubs hands together-

But yes, I normally charged 5.50 an hour. And what made me throw in the towl was me watching TJ for 36 hours straight, over night for almost two nights and not getting paid for it at all.

eeks, i would drop the kids off at their front door before that happened... i was thinking $4-5 an hour... that would put me at $70 to $80 depending on how late they picked them up... but I'm tired of feeling like I'm the bad person just cuz I don't wanna get screwed over, ya know?

-nods- I definately know what you mean. I enjoyed watching TJ while it lasted, but I felt bad for asking for money...I just felt like they were taking advantage of me.

I don't know that I would watch their kids overnight either. You know they just want to go out and act like they don't have kids. I don't know how some people get away with never being around their children. Why do they have kids ( ... )
