Anime Dance Weekend adventures or else, the story behind the ring net...

I think I already mentioned the con that had taken place in Prague last week, yes? :) Well... it was everything we had hoped for and much more than we wanted it to be!
Seriously...

First of all, the karaoke contest we've signed in for...
Amazing. So many wonderful voices I'd like to hear them again! Especially the japanese version of a song called Memories from the musical Cats. Beautiful *_*
Also three of us (me, my brother and his girl) managed to snatch a prize for ourselves with Do You Wanna Date My Avatar. Brother suggested we should produce a CD, because the song turned out to be so addictive, people were singing with us and then kept stopping us on the way asking to hear it again! :D
Which brings me to the aforementioned ring net... you see, brother's girl and I were working on cosplays for the con, she made herself a beautiful Christie Monteiro from Tekken while I was walking around in a Bleach 5th Division haori (so comfortable and warm I'm still wearing it when it's cold outside! :D). Which naturally led people unable to remember my name to call me "Aizen" most of the time. *sigh* For a while it felt pretty embarassing, having all those hints about godhood and knowing everything shot at me, up to the point when this guy called after me and when I turned around he took out this huge ring net and threw it over my head.
It took quite a while to stop the fits of laughter. :D My lifespan just expanded a few centuries! :)

Second of all, funny moments...
Apart from everything else, ADWeek is about seminars. You know, different people talking about different things. Not like the american cons like comicon or Blizzcon, purely fun made by fans and for fans.
The great thing about this is, there's a lot of stuff for purchase (like plushies and trinkets and figurines and badges) and ofc listening to fans talking about their favourite things...
Like this yuri seminar I attended among other things. Not that yuri turns me on much, but my ex was leading the seminar so I though I'll take a look. It was pretty good, I realized many thing I didn't know and a lot more I didn't even want to know. But the fun part is, when I sat down in the middle of all those drooling guys, one of them looked at me and then looked down at my bag with badges like: "Yaoi Note" and "Seme? Uke? I'm flexible." gleamed and he stared at me, his eyes popping out and exclaimed: "Hell, a yaoi fangirl!" and suddenly everybody moved their seats a little bit farther from me...
... I felt contagious somehow... *sigh* Narrow-minded jerks...
Hm... I don't suppose that sounds that funny, huh? Well, perhaps this other one will be better...
There was a seminar on Dragon Age and Mass Effect led by a guy working for Bioware. ADWeek is a legal convention, mind you so, naturally, everybody assumes people buy all the games they play. The more ridiculous it was when he marched into the room and said that he asked Bioware to give him some free coupons for a new Dragon Age 2 DLC and that he'll give one for every correct answer to his questions. We were to write our Bioware e-mails on the back and wait to receive the DLC for free (you have to pay to get it otherwise).
Obviously, my first reaction was "Bioware email?"
Then he looked at me like I was retarded and said: "How else do you play Dragon Age?"
And I was like: "Uhmm...." and a long, pregnant silence fell before the room exploded with applause and laughter and the guys said: "Okay... I won't ask so that you don't have to lie."
...
And then when he asked the first two or three questions and finally someone answered one of them (ofc nobody ever pays attention to the staff behind the games they play!) and he was so glad he could finally award someone, the girl just said: "I don't want it."
I felt sorry for the guy. He looked like a kicked puppy when it happened about two more times. :D There was only one person in that room, who actually wanted the DLC... :D

Third of all, cosplay contest....
Haven't seen so many cosplays like this year! And they were all so beautiful one didn't know where to turn! Bankai Ichigo with Zangetsu from Bleach, at least half the sailors from Sailor moon, loads of lollitas and gothic lollitas, many Narutards too. Though this time no Shinsengumi like last year... well, still there was Grell, Sebastian, Ran Mao and Ciel from Kuroshitsuji, one or two Jedis, France, Turkey and Sweden from Hetalia (amazing costumes these were!) and Chii too from Chobits! :) Plus this year, we were joined by Gryffindor trio -Potter, Weasley, Granger- together with Draco Malfoy, Pansy Parkinson, Dobby and someone from Hufflepuff I don't know.
Once all the photos get on the internet I'll post a link if anyone's interested, all of them were really amazing!

For now though a little appetizer...

And this one I'm sure especially Rii will appreciate (when I saw this I sprinted across the hall to take a picture :) the girl said she thought I was going to assault her! :D Must have looked like a crazy fangirl *cough*)...

And finally the most ridiculous of all...

My "Ultimate Bleach Assassin Mage" how my beloved brother called it... Yes, this is me. That's Aizen's haori, the staff was for safekeeping for the Avatar sing and this girl I met there just jumped at me from behind and forced the assassin hoodie over my head...
Funny enough, the ultimate crossover was quite popular... :D

convention, bleach, fun
