ha, my husband had very much the same problem for a number of years. coke was almost always part of his breakfast for a long time.

he still goes through times when he drinks quite a bit, but it's not anything close to the 2 to 3 12-packs a week habit it used to be.
so what I'm saying is that you might find the habit decreases with time...?

i have the same addiction. caffeine + sugar (in my case redbull, i find carbonation in most soda to be too much). there have been times when i have been up to 5-6 a day (plus i take caffeine pills as part of my BP therapy) be careful tho!

I think, as long as you decrease the amount of coke you drink over time, you should be all right :) Moderation is key!

Oh man, I'm the same way. Not as bad as I used to be, but I still go through periods where damn it's all I drink.

My hubby will be one of those mexicans. As you he has coke for breakfast and any other meal, he actually barelly drinks water, sadly he hates the tins, so he buys the 600ml (20oz) bottle for breakfast, then at lunch we always have a 2lts in the fridge which by dinner would be empty, add another 20oz during the afternoon, that's like 3.2 lts of coke a day!
I've done everything to make him drink water, juice or even tea instead but he says he just doesn't like flat drinks. :S

Has he tried fizzy flavoured water as an alternative? I think it can be a good medium in between coke and water.
