I have cross stitched two pieces. I would like to turn them into bookmarks for my siblings.  They are currently just  the design on Aida (adia?) cloth.  Is my best option to finish them

If I were to chose I would go with felt. Just sew it on with a running stitch, and fray the edges.

I had thought of felt, but I'm concerned about it turning out too thick for most books. I still may go that route though, if I can find some thinner felt.
