Doris Egan

Doris Egan has written some of my favorite House episodes (Failure to Communicate, House vs God, Son of a Coma Guy, House Training, Birthmarks, Known Unknowns). She announced on her blog (tightropegirl) that she's cutting back and only writing one episode next season (the season opener, as it turns out). I'm going to miss her contribution to this show so much, ( Read more... )

Did you know Doris already wrote novels? There's the Ivory series under her name, and she also uses a pseudonym, Jane Emerson.

You'll definitely hunt, because the online prices are usually unrealistically high.

My book club keeps a search list, so if we go individually or as a group, we're ready to go on the hunt. A friend found my copy of the omnibus edition for less than the $7.99 cover price. The cover is a bit tattered (it's a ten year old overly thick paperback, so it's expected), but it's perfectly readable.

Relevant to my interests! I don't quite mind that she's essentially jumping ship from House so much now, if I can get a delicious new TV show and novels :3 I won't go nagging her on Twitter (I'm sure publishers do more than an adequate job of that), but me? Having new books come out that I actually want to read? Awesome.

A pipedream, but can anyone say House novels? I've only ever seen sci fi shows get books, but I can dream of a universe whereby Doris Egan fixes everything wrong with the show through them.

LOL! I'd love that, but at the same time I can't actually wish that duty on her, because the pay for TV tie-in novels is not usually up to other types of novels. Plus, I imagine she'd like to play with her own creations for a change.

LOL at your icon. You're inspiring me to go make up a bunch of Beatley icons, too! :-D
