Thanks! I'm already used to both, considering I've been doing PT and wearing braces for eight months, now. It's become just a "normal" part of my life. :-)

Thanks! It helps that I've been reading everything I could get my hands on about the subject, and had already realized that no matter what, there wasn't likely an easy fix. To be honest, this knee has never been 'normal' since my original injury.

And yes, *answers* are goooood! I could tell the doc had really sweated over my case. He asked a lot of questions and did a thorough examination, and was flipping through my (quite thick) chart, pointing out different factors.

Yay for no surgery (and for no pain)! Boo that there's no good solution and you'll have to wear a brace.

I'm glad you don't have to undergo surgery, but sorry to hear that there is only so much that can be done. :(

Thanks! I'm really glad I read up on it ahead of time, so I was fairly prepared for the possibility. Patellar problems are one of those areas that orthopedist's just dread. They are always complicated, rarely easy, and often impossible to really fix.

It's what I keep telling people. The mind is not the first thing to go, it's the knees. Glad you don't have to have the surgery.
