Beautiful entry Dan. I love it when you take something from every day life (for some people at least), such as love, and take it to a whole new level and way of looking at it... Shawshank Redemption is one my favorite movies. Remember how we sat in front of my computer monitor watching it for the entire length, not bored for one second. I'm sure if I watched it now, about 3 years later, I would get much more meaning out of it, because it holds more than I could see at that point in my life. I don't think people should make you indebted to them for that long, even if they did give you life. Because when you think about it, they carried you for nine months, but you have been her son, companion, support, a caring ear, and an important person in her life for much much more than 9 months. If a girl reads this she will probably think "stupid male, he doesn't know the pain that comes along with child-birth..." I was an accident but its ok i think if you look at it like what do you cherish above all: life. The greatest gift of all is life, but that should be it. its a gift. And gifts are debts to be paid back. BTW ask john about the thing about heidi if you dont know about it.
God gave you to her as a gift from above in commemoration of love. But, it was God who actually gave you life, your mother carried and delivered you. You must first owe thanks to God for giving you life, but you also are comanded by Him to respect to her when respect is justly due.
