I just read some of my old poems. They are weird. I don't know if I like them or not. I don't know if I can go back to poetry or not. I just don't feel compelled to write slam anymore

yeah, check out some other stuff. i just recently was flipping through an anthology of international poetry from ecco, edited and compiled by ilya kaminsky (a russian poet who you should read if you havent), and there is some really good looking stuff in there.
also this turkish poet nasim hikmet.

is that the start of the manuscript? sounds pretty good! has the voice of a young adult nove l(god i hate that term, it fucking blows)--and i mean that in a good way

I'm finishing the Kite Runner and then The History of Love... I'll make a serious effort to take in good poetry after I'm done with those (both beautiful, beautiful books).

I'm not entirely confident that reading amazing and beautiful poetry will make me want to go back to writing it, but it'll be enjoyable nevertheless.
