esmerelda weatherwax

Esme is from the Terry Pratchett series Discworld, and there she's better known as Granny Weatherwax. She's been seriously de-aged for the purposes of FH, yes, and is now coming to you as a seventeen-year-old girl right smack dab in the middle of her flashback in the book Lords and Ladies. She's tall, thin, has long white-blonde hair and blue eyes, dresses in black and unless it is stated (or she's sleeping or something, in which case, ow uncomfy) she is wearing her witch's hat.

So yes, she's a witch, but there needs to be some explanation there. Discworld never really states exactly what a witch's powers are, though Granny is seen to be doing some pretty hardcore stuff in canon. The good thing about that for me at least is that she's not one for showing off actual magic. I honestly can't think of a time when she'll be casting a spell (though she might try and make you think you're a frog) and to those characters with spellbooks etc., she'll roll her eyes hard at them because she thinks it's all for show, and not what real magic is. (And really, she will probably pass off the different magics for different realities off as foolishness, because she's kind of a stubborn bitch like that.) She is also very big on deux ex machinaing her way through plots and saving the day every time. Unless you specifically ask me to have her as part of a finale or something, she will not be doing that, and in fact will be conveniently not around for it. Because no one wants someone Mary Sueing up the end of their plot, y'know?

The one thing that will definitely come into play is her Borrowing. She'll put herself in the head of an animal to see through their eyes, while her body appears to be of the dead sort till she comes back. I figure at seventeen, she has not yet worked out that maybe she needs a warning sign, so I'm already very sorry to whoever her roommate ends up being when that first happens. *g*

And seriously, the girl's a bitch. She thinks she knows better than everyone else (and in fact, she might) but hasn't figured out that maybe she shouldn't let everyone else know that. Therefore she might come off as a snobby little know-it-all. She's going to be antisocial, I don't expect to have her in CR's a lot, but she probably will be visiting room and town posts randomly, sitting down like she owns the place and fully expecting tea. She's a witch, she needs to know the people and know what's going on, even if she doesn't like them much. And to get this out now, I totally apologize in advance for anything she says, and know that Esme's opinions are NOT mine. It's just the character, and if you have any issues with her, please don't hesitate in "UM"ing at me.

jaina solo

Jaina is from Star Wars' expanded universe. She's Han and Leia's daughter, a Jedi Knight, fake goddess (this does not get mentioned in Fandom much) and a lieutenant colonel in her military. Because I've got five years' worth of canon that I am trying to squeeze into three years at FH, her time moves faster than Fandom's; she came in as a sixteen-year-old sophomore and is now a twenty-year-old senior. Occasionally I spam the flist with a book's worth of traumatic canon catchups with her, so if you know the New Jedi Order, she just finished up Destiny's Way. And while there are plenty of SW characters IG, she's not from any of their universes.

She's small, 5'1" and oft canonically described as "diminutive" lately, has brown hair and brandy brown eyes. Also the books would like to remind everyone all the time that she is pretty. She's currently dating John Sheppard and works a ton because she does have responsibilities back home, but I'm actively trying to socialize her more. She's not very social, especially not at first, and can tend to the angry/bitchy, but she can be easy to get along with if I try hard enough.

She is, again, a Jedi, and while she isn't the most important or most powerful, she's good at what she does. She's already been named the Sword of the Jedi, though she doesn't really talk about it and doesn't know how that's important yet, and she did have a brief turn to the dark side. So in addition to the usual Jediness (telekinesis, empathy, mind tricks, etc.) she's gotten good at mindwiping and Force lightning, though she'll probably not be using those last two things. Also, I will never ever do anything to another character without permission. Also she is a tough little thing, and despite being tiny she can take grown men down in hand-to-hand. (Someday she'll be able to take down three, and a Wookiee! All at once! While injured! But not yet.)

ETA: Jaina's also got some scary good mental walls up. She doesn't want to share her feelings and she doesn't necessarily want to know what's in everyone else's head either. Psychic types should not be able to read her unless I state otherwise. If you want to pick up on something, though, ping me and we'll talk.

brooke davis

Brooke is from One Tree Hill, which I sadly abandoned watching this season because I couldn't take the pain anymore. Still, Brooke is awesome. She's a graduating senior, and will be around for the first half of the summer, and will totally be trying to enjoy herself. She's a cheerleader and a party girl, and kind of a ho. Seriously, if you're a hot guy, she'll probably flirt with you because I think at this point she can't not. If you know canon, I've largely ignored seasons 3 and 4 canon for FH purposes, and also because s4 went off the rails somewhere. Brooke's fun and easy-going and should be really easy to get along with, and currently has no drama going on. I don't know either.

Also, she's played by Sophia Bush. Who I also use as Jaina's PB. They get confused all the time, but there are differences, should you want to be able to tell them apart. Brooke's taller (5'6") and dresses way more fashionably, has a birthmark on her cheek and dimples, and shows more cleavage. (Also, if you've seen her naked, you've seen a tattoo in a place not well-known to those who see her clothed.) And, if you really care, they don't actually sound alike. It's totally up to you how you want to handle it, I'm good either way.

Oh and if your character has access the Internet, she totally ended up topless on the net once. There's blanket permission to have seen it. Mostly because it makes me laugh when I see it pop up in random conversations I'm not in.

buffy summers

Buffy! She's from Buffy the Vampire Slayer (duh) and is also a graduating senior around for the first half of the summer. She came in at the start of season three, and despite having half the cast of Buffy in game, she has no real idea that they've been to Fandom. She knows she's the third Buffy Summers that's been in Fandom, she knows there was another slayer that went to Fandom (Mel), and she has absolutely no knowledge that she's going to have a sister in two years who's graduated.

In case you've been living under a rock and don't know the canon: Buffy's a slayer, which means she's got enhanced strength and healing skills, occasionally has the prophetic type dream (though she hasn't had them in Fandom), and can probably kick most people's asses. She doesn't get the chance to much, though, which TOTALLY frustrates her. Her Slayering did make radio, so to those who've been in Fandom, what she does is common knowledge, but she's only just getting comfortable telling people freely and mostly doesn't. She does go on patrol regularly despite not having things to kill, and I clearly have way too much fun with her in invasions.

lily aldrin

Lily is from How I Met Your Mother, and lives the Arms Hotel with her husband Marshall Eriksen. She's from his reality, having escaped Ted and his breakup beard, but not from the same reality as the game's Robin or Barney. She's ordinarily a kindergarten teacher who now teaches at Fandom High, and also drinks a lot and is a total freak. And I think canon keeps making her crazier and I love it.

Also she looks like a brunette Willow and totally dresses well.

aeryn sun

Aeryn is from Farscape, a pre-canon AU. She's a Sebacean, a human-looking alien who graduated Fandom in 2007, married her high school sweetheart John Crichton, and is now living in Cambridge, MA with him and their baby son Talyn. She doesn't show up in Fandom much these days.

jaye tyler

Jaye is from Wonderfalls, and while she's technically pre-canon, she can already hear inanimate animals talking to her and telling her to burn do things. She's open about it, because it seems like either no one believes her or they're so used to the weird they don't even blink. She also graduated in 2007 and now goes to Brown University, but she shows up in Fandom more and is a walking plot device while she's in town.

me!

I'm Natalie, nice to meet you. Obviously I play too many characters and very definitely have a type. I'm on PST, and generally when I'm working I tend to be available around 5 am till I leave for work, and then from about 5:30 or so on. At the moment I'm between jobs (stupid economy) so I'm around way more, BUT it also means I take temp jobs whenever they become available, so I may randomly not be around during the day for a week or two with little to no warning and my hours may change. I'm a whore for playing, so I'll be around whenever I can, though, and I'm currently too poor to have a life, so!

I'm fairly easygoing and like communication. If I have a problem with anything, I'll let you know if there's really a problem, and I am totally good with being told if I'm doing something wrong or something. I'm available on AIM at chickwithemo, though I really am hesitant to ping people and tend to use E-mail (fall.in.two@gmail.com) more often when I don't know someone well, but that totally doesn't mean I'm adverse to getting IM's.

And I totally overuse "totally."
