Global Warming, My Fat Aunt Petunia!

When I got home last night the inside of the house was 37 degree. Outside it was twenty eight. Today it started to snow! I would include an image, but the system will only allow me to insert an url, and the pic is actually on my desktop. If you want to see it, look me up or either MySpace or Tribes ( Read more... )

...You do realize, Unca Don, that 'Global warming" only raises the AVERAGE global temperature. Individual climates simply get more extreme until a new equilibrium is reached. So summers will be hotter, winters will be colder, springs will be wetter (or drier), etc.

However, I can't for the life of me fathom why you're crying over a few inches of snow. It's been snowing since 6AM here, pretty much nonstop. By tomorrow I'm pretty sure the city will be one big glacier.

Makes me very happy there is food in the house. very very happy. :p

Love to ya, dearie.

My dear Fiona, do you not remember your family history?

There we were, in Upstate New York, Paul and Mom and I. I had to go out (with Paul) and fix the roof of the doghouse at 36 below Zero! It was at that moment I understood why most of the people living up there were so unpleasant. Why it limned Lovecraft not as a fantasy writer but as a nitty-gritty realist. That sort of temperature is Unfit for Human Habitation!

So we moved to Sunny California! Uh huh.

And surely you remember Kelson, in Wisconsin, selling Holy Family stamps door to door at 64 below zero, smiling happily as he froze...

Sensible people move AWAY from those kinds of places!

Josh tells me the local MallWart was sold out of everything when the power went off this week. You must remember to stock up on coal, and kerosene, and books by fundament worshippers, in case your source of heat goes out. --Though, in all fairness, books are really, really hard to burn. In fact, they make good fire insulation...

Love,

Dear Old Unca' Don
