It's finally time to retire my old laptop, the one that we've been using as a home server for a while. The screen had stopped working, but that didn't matter so much for server use. Last night, however, something else failed and it won't do networking anymore

Cricketsong is dead! Long live Cricketsong!!

Thought I'd note here that Cricketsong still connected by parallel port to our HP Color Laserjet printer and acted as the print server, and that we bought Cricketsong during the height of the dot-com boom. Good times, those. Good times.

we may also need to get a new computer. Ours got sick, just a cold I thought. But the virus was a very bad flu, maybe causing death. Staples is operating right now, after ATT messed it up more.
