most of my friends are liberal and i hate being attacked for thinking differently. it gets really annoying after a while.  i never really give them a hard time so why can't it be chill.  the past few months ive pretty much been in the shadows of this election. i wanted to be more into it but every time politics came up i was too afraid. all because ( Read more... )

...i think you just proved why it shouldn't have been passed.
that every organization has a right of freedom. the fact that you believe that gay marriage is right or isn't right really doesn't matter. truly, it doesn't. you can be gay yourself or you can be scared shitless of homosexuals. the fact that you believe that everyone deserves that freedom, those self entitled rights that are unexcuseable and should always be respected...isn't choice of marriage one of them? isn't that an inalienable right just as anything else in america?

i'm pretty sure that means that it is not safeguarding people that disagree with certain lifestyle preferences, and prop 8 would go along with that, not safeguarding any person. yeah...like tasha, i'm really unclear on what you're saying. more explanation might be helpful. or you could get a phone and call me, for once :)

and i love you johnny, and i know the last thing you wanted, after saying you're tired of getting beef from your liberal friends, was comments like these. but, well, when you voice a firm opinion on a blog, you're kind of asking for it. and also, maybe if you spoke up and actually explained yourself and engaged in conversation / debate about your beliefs, rather than sitting there quietly feeling too outnumbered to say anything, then, you wouldn't get beef for the few times you do make apparent you're not quite in agreement.

If I made you feel uncomfortable when you came over, I'm sorry. I was thinking about that while we were talking and tried to be as chill about it as possible but I know I'm very outspoken about my political position so I'm sorry If I still came off too forward and deushe-like.
