....won the $10,000 Stud championship at the wsop yesterday.

Eric Brooks and I first met in 1982 standing in the Dome Mines trading pit. We each were working our positions up to the (then) limit, buying a spread that still stands in my mind as one of the best I'd ever done. (That's a different story.) thought you would have been out there for the womans tourney. i got to sweat every hand at the final table as I blew out about 40th, and the 8 hours on my feet was well worth it.

so I guess the real question remains, what are you doing to alleviate this pain? I think (still) that you need to think out of the box...walk a golf course, throw a pole in the water...something sedative, relaxing, peaceful that will be both pleasureable and medative...

and will you be there when I win mine, or will I be there when you win yours?

Cathy decided she'd rather go to the national Barbie convention much more than Vegas, and I didn't mind in the least. We have both slipped far out of poker, although I have promised her a main event attempt someday when she feels ready. I saw your departure, you KNOW I was sending positive karma at you the whole way. Eric is the only person I'd want to have seen win other than you ( ... )

I'm interested in the DEF that Eric works with. If he can think of a way my expertise can help I would like that a lot. A pet peeve I have always had is how poorly personal finance is taught in lower level education, I'd like to be involved in helping kids learn finance tools much earlier in life. If it fits his thinking, I'd really like to talk with him about it. Children need to be taught good decision making like they are taught social studies and history.
