I doubt I'd say very much to either person unless I was asked. In a big picture sense I guess I'd tell them both to do whatever they wanted smartly. I'm 38.
I'm not sure what you mean. I've generally found doing what I wanted while at the same time making sure I'm not being an idiot, to be a very fruitful way to go.
And just to be clear, I personally have not always persued personal interests. And neither have I done everything very smartly.
1) The worst mistake is refusing to admit to yourself made a mistake. 2) Different personality types are prone to different errors. Some people are too cautious, some are too impulsive, for example. You need to know what your typical error mode is, so you can fight it.
I knew it was either you or Bastard that would come up with this kind of response. Thanks for the reply!
(On a totally different note, starting to feel like it is almost time for US stocks again...unless we manage to achieve full-blown deflation, of course.)
(39) 1. I'd give him a list of women to not bother wasting his time with ;P
More seriously, I'd tell him to spend a year or two less doing the Yellowstone National Park/ski bum routine and gotten him in grad school quicker and advised him on how to have used his time there more effectively.
Or, alternatively, I would have discovered IRC poker and rec.gambling.poker a lot sooner and maybe I could have gotten so good at the p0cker that I'd be a Full Tilt Pro!
Isn't everyone going to know enough English eventually that that (or a close facsimile) will end up being a communication for tool for everyone? To do anything too technical, scientific, or even international consumerist, you almost have to know some English? (For the foreseeable future, at any rate?) I don't see me learning Chinese any time soon...smile...
